I have tried acrylic paint on top but it looses the marble like finish and only possible to achieve complete smoothness by spraying not brushing.
The idea of satin varnish I like & will experiment with.
So right it does pick up finger marks and stains easily.

Hi Just wondering amongst you hand finishers how you leave frames which are just pure gesso? I usually leave them uncoated after having sanded then polish to smooth finish BUT feel they need a coat of something on them... Have tried wax but leaves streaky marks. Any suggestions? just spoken to rep & they had a physical rather than 'computer says no' check of stock & they have found a length for me!

I have had the same 'guestimates' for 4 weeks now - according to the rep this morning the shipped order they have received does not contain this moulding....
Will have try at emailing the manufacturer but as robo says - think it's an exclusive - might end up doing a hand finish to match....

Thanks Roboframer! That's exactly what I need, I looked in their catalogue but it's not in there - an new range... Is the finish the same as Nielsen ie hardwearing film that's almost scratch proof rather than aluminum on wood? I guess the idea as above would be to put wide moulding on its edge then ...

I need a rebate of 60mm to enable to fit a 50mm golf ball with double mount, 3mm glass, 3mm MDF.
If I were to place the larger moulding on its side then cap with narrower moulding I'd 20mm short - this might be where cove box comes

Thanks have tried that way but unfortunately not deep enough - only other way I've found would be to stack them with backs flush & build up rebate difference BUT the join line will show on the edge - not great look - this might be final choice if no other moulding options found...
