Do Simons do individual sheets?
They must be close to you. (Says a Northerner!)

Re: Wall panel saw
My solution will replace my Excalibur so has to be wall mounted and needs to take 8x4ft sheets so a wall saw is the way to go for me. I’d probably start with a second hand Excalibur 4000 they come up on here regularly (I’ve just given one away, unfortunately). Then replace the head with a plunge sa...

Re: Wall panel saw
That is very interesting! Is it possible to use a track saw in a vertical plane? It might make a useful substitute for a normal wall mounted saw. I've been thinking about possibly buying one of Peter Parfit's pre-drilled bench tops from Axminster tools. It's basically the same as the Festool MFT be...

Re: Glass glued to frame...?
I’ve not come across this in a metal frame, we’ve had a couple glued with silicon in wood frames.

Paper wrapped slip
I need some custom size paper wrapped slip, does anyone have contact details of a manufacturer? Or a supplier other than Simons & Rose & Hollis (I’m waiting for them to get me some prices).
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Setting fire to glass
It was probably laminated glass. They cut both sheets of glass then use lighter fluid to melt the plastic.

Re: Looking for a saw
I don’t know about the standard 939 (or the 969) but the 939ma (mine) definitely does not fit through a doorway, this is the reason I’m selling mine. I bought it, got it back to my workshop and couldn’t fit it in! So it sits unloved and unused in a storage area.

Re: Upgrading from Keencut to Valiani. Opinions sought.
I did exactly that. Loved the Mat Pro. Try to get one with the end cutter, great for sizing the mounts before cutting. The mat pro cut down on waste massively and the quality of mounts (especially double mounts) went up massively. It also saved a bunch of time. I kept the keencut “just in case” and ...

Acrylic thickness
I’m making a box frame 18” x 10” with a deep glass spacer. The customer has asked for acrylic which I don’t do a lot of, would I need 3mm at this size to stop sag or would 2mm be sufficient?
Thanks
Thanks

No car park
I’m considering moving premises, my current shop has around 12 parking spaces, 3 have staff cars in leaving 9 for customers. At the most we probably have 5 customer cars at any one time. The new premises doesn’t have dedicated parking, just street and pay and display. How do members with this set up...
