Re: Which underpinner?
I think it would be interesting to know if there’s a consensus on Underpinners, so even you don’t want to say your experience, people could just state their machine. I’m finding that too Ed’, twists mostly, but just yesterday I needed to make two frames exactly the same, so I thought it would make s...

Which underpinner?
I am looking into the possibility of buying a new underpinner (possibly Cassese CS20 if anyone has specific experience with one) and was looking for advice/opinion and maybe a bit of a poll on your ‘weapon of choice’? I am thinking around £2000 for a new or second hand machine. We curently use the C...

World Cup tickets.
I’ve been asked to frame to some World Cup tickets, program & pass badge. The customer has asked for a floating window mount, which is good.. The program is fairly heavy and the customer mentioned the possibility of reversibility in the future. It didn’t seem to be a deal breaker, but just looki...

Hanging wide landscape?
Any advice on which hangers etc. to suit a fairly wide landscape - 1.3m x 50cm, 3mm float, softwood frame. I am thinking strap hangers, but just have a niggle that there may need to be something bridging towards the middle of pic..any suggestions most welcome, or am I overthinking?

Nick, do you mind if I ask what underpinners you changed? I am looking for a new one and numerous searches for personal opinion are few and far between..

Re: MORSO EH and KEENCUt 4000 FOR SALE
Hi, just to confirm..are you saying the 4000 is as new? and if so, is it the 48ins version and how big is it now dismantled (considering transport options) ?

Re: Wanted: Excalibur 5000
I did look through my simons catalogue and they seem to carry same as keencut..so no 4000 slider bearings. I did ask the guy at Keencut if the 5000 sliders would suit, but no.
I will loosen them a little more, but it’s an ever decreasing circle between tightness and play

Re: Wanted: Excalibur 5000
I have looked at the machine with a better understanding - thank you to you both - and it seems there was a lot of play in the slider bearings (sort of triangular white plastic wedge) that sit vertically and slide down the centre bar. I contacted keencut and although they keep some spares, they have...

Re: Wanted: Excalibur 5000
Thank you that’s incredibly helpful of you both. I will try your advice tomorrow when I am back with machine. I know there is lateral play, but it would be great if I can fix it, it’s a good machine and still cuts glass well.

Re: Wanted: Excalibur 5000
That would be great..I probably just assumed that the machine would be too old and they would obviously prefer for me to buy a new one. It still cuts glass great, there is just some movement on the down cutter that adds lots of wasted faffing to a simple backboard cut. I will contact them asap.
