Re: Is this Morso Ok?
I think I would be tempted to spend a little more and get a more modern version. The extra weight in the base makes it more stable especially when cutting hard woods like ash and oak. You will need a 16 foot long space to use the machine assuming you intend to use standard 10ft moulding lengths and ...

Re: fingerprints on black frame?
A good tip I was once shown and still use on some black frames is to use one of those instant shoe shine things. It has a sponge which you dip in the polish apply to the frame (or your shoes) and then buff up with a soft cloth. Got mine from LIDL but I guess any supermarket will have similar. As alw...

Re: help with hot press
Have you checked out the latest prices? They are now manufacturing in India and the HGP260 has come down by about £1000! Having said that you do still need to be using one a fair bit to make it pay but with fuel going up all the time it would save you getting in the car plus your time etc. etc. John...

Re: Energy Saving Lamps - increased or decreased UV?
Reading this thread has just sent me out to the recycling bin to recover last Saturday's edition of the Daily Telegraph. In the "Weekend" section (page w3) there was an article about the National Trust and how they had changed all of their lighting in critical areas to low energy halogen b...

Re: chance of a retail unit
I think the rent sound extremely reasonable. A few things I would think about reflecting on my own experience. Insurance – as soon as Joe Public is allowed access to your premises you need £2m public liability cover. Security – windows bars door grill etc. Customer’s work – get cover for high value ...

Re: What's in a Name?
From "jonny2morsos" A year back a local antique map dealer/framer was selling up and offered us their equipment which included a couple of plan chests which we needed as we were making the move from home to "real" business premises. The plan chests were a necessity for keeping al...

Re: Digital Photo Frame
Not your average framer wrote "It would be prudent to ensure a similar degree of air-flow around the outer surfaces of this device as would be normal if not framed. This is in case any restrictions lead to a temperature increase which may give rise to failures, reliabilty issues, or reduce the ...

John I think the Arqadia moulding equivalent to the one you show is 441 700 000 (28mm deep rebate) not 442 700 000 (13 mm rebate). If you can live without the rebate depth could Arqadia supply 442 700 000? I just checked their website and they list 6756 metres in stock so should cover your requireme...

I think you will find the instructions to fit the chute are printed on the reverse side i.e. the bit you cannot see when you look at it! ?Danish logic On the same subject (of logic). The sliding scale for rebate width on the left side reads from right to left. We read from left to right and I find t...

Cutting Plastic on Keencut 4000
Plastic is cut (scored) using the reverse end of the stanley type blade. Sounds like you do not have a manual. Not sure if you can download one from the Keencut website. If you cannot get one send a PM and give me your address and I will happily send a photocopy of my manual. If you have acquired on...

We use these mouldings a fair bit for a customer who does casts of babies feet and hands but have the opposite problem in that the back of the mitre is often slightly open. This we can live with as the front is nice and neat. Looking at your frame you appear to have used the matching glass spacer wh...

Oil filled is what you need, have a look at these on the Wessex Picures website to give you an idea. http://www.wessexpictures.com/glass_cutters.html I have had one like these for 3 yrs which was not new when I got it and it still cuts well. Getting a good score on the glass is an aquired knack when...
