Gold Gilt frame - how to clean ?

I've been asked by a customer who has an ornate Gold gilt frame with a mirror, she wants to clean it, the best I could suggest was some light brushing with an old toothbrush and some cotton wool. Is there a better way which won't be too abbrasive ?
Thanks in advance,

Did you find a printer to do this DaveyM ? I'm looking for a suitable printer to feed A3 size mountboard through, with a view to printing lettering onto mounts, would be interested if you have . :D

A silly question ? Do oil paintings fade ?

I have a customer who wanted a non-reflective glass over his oil on canvas on board, I thought this would be fine as it was a lovely oil painting of a gorilla that he had commissioned. I then mentioned a museum glass that would give him UV protection as well a reflection control, I was just about to...

Perspex cases for footballs etc... anyone ?

Hi, I do a lot of framed football shirts, boxing gloves etc. but when anyone asks for a perspex box for a football or baseball cap I suggest they buy one on Amazon. Re: Pricing Software

Ditto for Estlite, as a one man band I cant see the advantage of running software in the cloud, I backup every night religiously to Dropbox, never had a problem with it the years I've been running it . It's a piece of pish to use as well, before I moved to Estlite I used pricing software that I had ...

Re: STOCK CONTROL USING ESTLITE

Thanks for your comments gents, much appreciated. After all these years, I'm still trying to come up with a simple and accurate way of keeping on top my stock and at the same time not over ordering and adding to my mountain of unused moulding : ( I've been doing some Chop orders recently from Lion, ...

STOCK CONTROL USING ESTLITE

I've been using Estlite quite a few years now and am more than happy with it, does anyone use it to keep track of moulding stock and if so, how effective is it ? I never bothered looking into it but thought this might make my life a bit easier when it comes to placing orders for moulding. Amy words ...

Re: Taking Photos Remotely from Ceiling mounted camera ?

Well if you have the camera fixed to the ceiling, you will have to climb up to switch it on, also press a button on the back of the camera to activate the wifi link to the tablet. The camera has rechargeable battery , but it's a little bit like the ones on a phone in shape , square and flat and it ...

Taking Photos Remotely from Ceiling mounted camera ?

I asked this question a couple of years ago, when I was considering PreView, I may well still consider Preview but at the moment I just want to get a camera to mount on the ceiling again. Years ago I setup a Canon Powershot on the ceiling and linked it with a cable to my PC, the Canon software allow...

2017-11-20 10.24.14.jpg I thought I'd give you an update, I ended up going to B&Q and got some 12mm x 34mm strip wood, made a frame ( below ) and then stretched the canvas over it, it looked fine, no sign of the frame through the canvas, the customer was v pleased : ) 2017-11-19 20.51.22.jpg 2017-1...
