FITTING HEAD SPRING FOR EXCALIBUR 5000

Could someone do me a favour and post a photo of how the head spring ( see below ) fits in the ratchet part of the Keencut Excalibur 5000 cutting head please ? I have a spare but can never remember how it fits in place, I can't make it out from the manual either : ( Thanks in advance, Adam head_spri...

Re: Bending board when drymounting anyone ?

I forgot to thank you all for the advice about the drymounting, I dont have a cold roller anymore so I had to drymount. I did put the white display board in the hotpress first, to dry it out a bit, I then drymounted them and placed them under glass to flatten them out. I was quite pleased with the r...

Re: Bending board when drymounting anyone ?

Funny you should mention hardboard, the customer said she had had prints drymounted onto hardboard previously and I had never heard of that, she said they were fine, I think I might get in touch and suggest I try drymounting them onto hardboard instead of white display board, because of the bending....

Re: Bending board when drymounting anyone ?

I'll certainly try and reheat the board first and then try drymounting the print, thanks for the tip : )

Bending board when drymounting anyone ?

I can't believe this is the first time this has been an issue for me but a customer came in last week and left a variety of prints and small posters, minimum size A3 , maximum size A1. All she wanted me to do was drymount them onto MDF board, I said I've never done that before but could drymount ont...

Re: Buying a framing business

On a slightly different note, has anyone made the move from working at home to moving to a high street shop/ business unit ? I know of a few high street framers that have had to leave the high street because of soaring overheads but as someone who has been in business for 6 years, working from home ...

Thanks for pointing that out, my Workshop is next door to my neighbours so anything other than a silent compressor ( I have a Jun-Air silent compressor ) and I might get some complaints :head:

BAMBI HT24-2P Oil Free Compressor

"I have a one year old Bambi HT24-2P oil free compressor for sale in excellent condition only had light use - £275 with local delivery possible." The above quote is from the original advert on the Forum, I bought the above on the Forum back in August 2014, it had only had light use and abs...

Re: Clay tile baby prints - mounting

Well I had a trip to B&Q yesterday and bought some of that Evostick Serious Stuff, I used this with a couple of strips of double sided foam adhesive, belt and braces :D I left some weights on top of the tiles over night and it seemed to do the trick, here's the finished frame. Thanks for the adv...

Clay tile baby prints - mounting

I'm making a box frame for some Clay tile baby prints a customer has brought in of her little ones, I was thinking about sticking them onto a backboard using either Hot Glue or Silicon Adhesive ? Has anyone used either before to do this ?

Thanks in advance,

Re: Clay Hand & Foot Prints

Just revived this thread from 2008, that's got to be a record ?

Well I have some clay tiles with baby handprints to frame but do I use Hot Glue or Silicon Adhesive to attach them ? I think sticking is fine unless anyone tells me they had a bad experience with Hot Glue ....

THINKING ABOUT GETTING ... A COLD ROLLER

I used to own one of those desk mounted 24" wide Hotpress cold rollers with a pedal to stop and start, I'm sure it was this that gave me my Hernia a few years ago :sweating: I used to have to deadlift it onto the bench when I needed it because of lack of space ... Now I want one of the wider co...
