ideas for 1st day covers?

I've 8 1st day cover envelopes to go into a frame and am stuck as how to mount them. I don't really want to cover the edges because they then lose the letter look somewhat. My only thought is a couple of Melinex straps around each one - giving it's own problems of lining up. Has anyone got any ideas...

Re: Dust!!!

I use a large pheasant feather which slides a long way. Mever be tempted to lick the end of it though with the thought that the dust might stick to it - it marks the glass

Re: Glass

Bite the bullet and bin the majority of offcuts, keeping perhaps a few of the larger ones. Otherwise like me you end up with a large amount of useless stuff to get rid of.

Thank you for the replies, I'd had a logic breakdown on this.

measuring for L shape / tray frames

Is there a better way than my ham fisted trial and error on the morso.
The upright bit is 12mm wide and the visible base of the moulding is 25mm; I want to show about 12mm of it around a canvas, how do you equate that to a mountboard size that you transfer onto the morso.
Please.

solutions when artist doesn't paint edges?

I don't get many paintings, but nearly always the artist doesn't paint the side edges of the canvas.

On a 300mm square painting a moulding covering the edges looks a bit cramped, anyone used to this kind of thing please

Re: Oxford/Henley area - Framing Equipment for sale

Could you post or send a photo of the support rig for your underpinner, that looks a good way of supporting longer lengths.
Thanks

Re: Wavey Canvass

I've a holiday canvas to do too, quite heavy oils, taken off the stretchers and rolled up to bring back. Can you do much more than get it tightish over some pieces of wood; my thoughts are that it'll never stretch as tight as it was pre painting so was not intending to use anything other than some w...

Re: Marketing

Thanks fellas, some good thoughts to mull over, and I've the semblance of a plan coming together. I definitely subscribe to working less for more and I've got two or three things I will share in the New Year by way of example.
As a ps, does anyone do photo blocks by the way?

Marketing

Probably covered before, but I'm determined to up the anti business wise in 2020. Without a High St presence, without a large slug of people from referrals / past customers, what marketing has worked for you, or what might you offer from your current thinking?

Re: No way round this?

Well I've done it and luck or not it worked out fine. I laid a length of moulding along the artwork, marked and cut it. Checked it, then put it on the morso bed butting it up to the blades at max cut. Put the other length on top and with the morso at max cut again pressed down to capture where the c...

No way round this?

I need to cut a 34mm wide moulding to 1515 length so I'd be putting the 34 on 1515,and oops the morso runs out at 1500mm, Is there any way round this using the morso? Anyone done this please?
Thanks

Re: Picture Framing Magazine September 2019

Have to say I'm not keen on the new format where you go through Issuu or whoever, I used to download the mag then print off the article I wanted to use in a project, I found that easier than using the pad.

I use white display board from Wessex, it has a good flat surface to it and it quite rigid compared to mountboard
