Hotpress do it here.

This is the link http://www.hotpress.co.uk/plaqdecoredge.htm

Not sure if they operate on your side of the pond though.

Re: Library Pictures

You need a stock photo agency. Enter "stock photos" in google and you will find loads. www.gettyimages.com is one of the big ones. You might get a shock when you see the prices however! A local photographer may be able to help but you MUST get a signed release form from the folks in the ph...

Re: Prints

www.printportfolio.co.uk have the biggest range but you will have to pay for catalogues. They usually have some special offers on the catalogues if you buy a number and the updates are sent out FOC. Always found them easy to deal with and when you order it always arrives next day well packaged and l...

Re: 'polystyrene' mouldings - or is that a dirty word ?

I think I have come across the same Larson Juhl moulding as Robin. Wood with a foil finish applied but the snag is they manage to crease the foil when applying it and damage the high spots in the faux leaf finish and then they pack it with plastic ties around the corrugated cardboard and crush the r...

Slightly off the original point but it was mentioned by one of the respondents in an earlier thread. It is complete madness to train our customers to do our job for us. Does your hairdresser offer to teach you how to do it your self at home and save your self a packet? oh and while your at it why no...

Re: Keencut Excalibur 5000

Try contacting the local removal companies they are always breaking glass when moving people's stuff.

When we get re-glazing jobs in most are due to accidents when moving house and the rest are due to pictures being hung on bits of string found in the shed with the inevitable consequence.

Re: Tile in a DR frame in a Kitchen

Here is something I did recently. Not a tile but a small print float mounted on a piece of museum board over acid free foamboard. A deep rebate moulding (Arqadia 307 453 167, same available from Neilsen, Wessex/Frinton) and a Lion spacer moulding (L1341). Glazed with Tru Vue Conservation and back mo...

Cassese Underpinner?

Just had a flyer from Lion with special prices for this month on Cassese CS199MXL and CS299MXL underpinners. Wondered what the general opinion and experiences are of these models. We are virtually exclusively bespoke with the emphasis very much on quality. Would like to get your opinions or referral...

Re: Advice on Workshop Furniture/Storage for customers artwork

We have 3 plan chests - 1 bought on ebay and 2 bought from a map dealer/framer who was packing up. The latter 2 we got for £100 the pair and they were stuffed with full sheets of mountboard! However, don't try using them for storing sheets of mountboard as you will find the weight causes the drawers...

Re: set up price for card machine

We pay between £11 and £12 p.m and transaction charges at the level you have been quoted after six months use.

I think there is room for negotiation. Tell 'em you've been quoted less. At the end of the day they don't have to do much to get the cash as it is all computerised.

Re: Cardboard Picture Frame Boxes..

Try Mitrecraft in Lincoln 01522 511322

They have just started offering them made to order but you will need to give them a size that allows for whatever packing you are putting in i.e. they need to know the actual size of box not size of frame.

Re: Mirror Frame Construction

I now always paint the inside of the rebate black before I pin it together as it is a lot easier to do 4 pieces than fiddle around turning the frame 90 degrees three times and going into the corners. Everest frame paint is excellent as it dries quickly. Also easier to wipe of any bits of paint that ...

Re: 3.5 mountboard

You need the Tech S .015 blade as the double sided blades flex too much on this thickness of board. I think Keencut do a helpful hints sheet on cutting thick board so you could ring them and ask for one. It is a bit of trial and error as the usual stops do not work on this thickness of board and whe...

I would strongly advise against directing any compressed air against the skin surface due to the risk of an air embolism in an artery. Although the risk is small it only takes a small embolus of air in a coronary artery to cause a myocardial infarction (heart attack). Sorry, my medical background co...

The FSB guy called on me and when I showed him the deal we got on the card terminal (via FATG) he admitted he could not match it. They pestered me for ages for an appointment and so I finally said someone could call at 5pm on a Friday expecting them not to bother but he did show up. Also had the Gui...

In an earlier post I mentioned the deal we got via the Fine Art Trade Guild with Bank of Scotland but I do not remember ever having to prove membership so could be worth a try. Could say you have been recommended by FATG and see what they have to offer. Roboframer said he got a deal beating the B of...

Re: Fine art trade guild

If you are not yet taking card payments they do have a good deal arranged with the Bank of Scotland for rental of a terminal etc. Forget the exact amounts we pay but no one else could get near so that alone might pay back your membership fee. Fair bit of bad feeling about this year due to us all hav...
