Wherrit? Never heard of that one; I wonder if it's where the Aussies get 'whinge' from (or maybe that's from 'whine').

Great Dawn French clip. Don't usually find her or her po-faced partner funny, but that was superb.
She must be gutted she's not with Lenny any more, now he's a Lord or whatever they made him.

'Dear Friend & my honour to contact you'? How creepy is that.
You be careful, John. Next they'll say you'll have to undertake a personality test and be baptised before they'll send it.

Do yourself a favour; get an electric paint sprayer.
I got one for 20 quid from Screwfix and it breezes through fence panels, rather that the half hour per side it used to take with a brush.

Re: Landscape or portrait?
I agree with Grays. I briefly worked in the production/art buying side of advertising before switching to copywriting. I was taught that the height always came before the width. if in doubt (and to save confusion, should others need to refer to your jottings) put an arrow after the height (or drop) ...

Hi Ken, Welcome, mate. You've certainly come to the right place. People on this site are incredibly generous with their knowledge. As a starting point, get yourself a copy of a great book Prospero recommended to me...it's called 'Picture Framing', by Pete Bingham. I can't rate this book highly enoug...

Re: Sarnie, anyone?
So interesting to see the replies and different approaches taken. Looking at our most recently shop-framed picture (an oil painting), the Art-bak was indeed taped up as part of the sandwich (with Tesa tape), so we have just about every variation on this thread! If only Joe public knew how much thoug...

Evening John. Yes, not the backing board (I'd like to say it's been a long day, but it hasn't!).
Great idea with a care label....an ad for the shop AND helpful advice.

Sarnie, anyone?
Hi all. I understand that making a sealed sandwich of backing/mount(s)/ glass is a great way to seal out dust and other nasties, but what are your thoughts about the potential for a 'wicking' effect? When we clean-up prior to final assembly, of course great care is taken NOT to wet the tape that sea...
