Re: Framing a Robert Bateman print
Hi Emeraldart, It would look ok, but due to it value and size 34” x 23” I personally would not close frame it even if you use a spacer and rebate tape or a fillet/ slip I feel it would sag and you don’t want to go down the road of dry mounting a quality Ltd edition. I personally would still advise a...

Re: What type of knot
Hi Jolly Good Framer, Looking at your Knots can’t see any thing wrong with that, it won’t come undone, I would have gone round the D-ring twice with the cord though, your ends are already frayed and may become worse over time, personally I don’t like them just hanging loose but that’s only cosmetic....

Yep, Basically it's coated Pike trace (which the picture framing trade knicked the idea from, hence why it dose'nt rust.
I have both types even with ferruls.

ROBO, Good Neat Finish, Hope your going to teach that :giggle: Soft strand is a good product that’s how I like my finish knots (or twisting) to look, twice round the d-ring.(good to have a nice sharp pair of wire cutters to make a clean cut, this helps stop that annoying little bit of wire pricking ...

Re: What type of knot
Hi Fineedge, I can see how your simple method works along with different strengths of cord and wrapping round the screw like wrapping wire round when doing electrical terminals, this stops the end hanging loose, this type of knot I also use when fishing some sort of blood knot can’t remember which, ...

Re: What type of knot
Hi Jon, When I use cord I use a reef Knot, after tying a reef knot at the loose ends I tie a figure of eight knot and melt the ends, or I use shrink tubing from my local fishing tackle shop, looks neater than taping and will last. But Personally I prefer Picture wire, I just feel it’s stronger and n...

Re: Framing a Trans
Totally agree Gesso, Always best to use water based tapes or starch and mulberry/Jap paper hinges I haved used lighter fluid on many items as it evaporates and dose not stain great for removing sticking tape residue, (as of yet, i have not had the need to use it on this type of artwork, but have use...

Hi Danchip, Your local Tesco can do this for your just save your image on a disc or pen and take it along. At least this will get some samples done quick while you source a printer and equipment. Firms such as Epson I believe produce a paper for printers than your can transfer an image onto T-shirts...

Re: Framing a Trans
As Gesso stated the size of this artwork 62”x112” would seem a little large for this method. Gesso is correct in saying that these types of artworks do not respond to normal water based correct hinging methods. So P90plus would be an option, although considered a method of last resort, because it is...
