fallen mirror
customer has rung to say his mirror has fallen off the wall because of my "inferior" chord. I completed the work two years ago though I've no idea how long it's been up. I'm popping round tomorrow, because i want to see how it's been hung - I suspect just 1 fixing rather than the 2 horizon...

Re: best wedges for joining polycore moulding
I use UHU all plastics glue which holds well. It says strong cold welding on the tube, I then underpin afterward but am always wary of the shock of the clamp hitting the moulding, its an alfa macchine

Re: visualisation software
Agree with that last post - as long as you stick to a uniform profile along the length the results are very good.
You'll need a camera too - I use the Canon S5 SI (ebay) which is one of the few that you can do remote capture from your computer.

Re: visualisation software
The thing to ascertain is: how good do they work on ornate / detailed moudings. With my software you take a photo of say a 150mm length of moulding and the software then replicates that to build up a frame of whatever size. Great on plain mouldings but with more ornate / non repetitive stuff you end...

Re: stacked frames
Thank you very much for thread of information so far, I've really appreciated the photos. I know what you mean about copying others ideas, it can be detrimental to developing your own style. But, great, I've learnt a lot just by looking at the photos.

Do keep us informed on how you progress with this. Now that our contact is Germany it'd be interesting to know of your outcome. Upwards of £3k for a box? A call to Framers Corner might help even though they no longer support Wizard

Re: Help
Assuming you disregard the cheap looking ones, well, they are cheaper generally, and you do get consistency of quality. Horses for courses.

Re: ideas for 1st day covers?
Mark I do think your solution would look great, but with 8 to do I'm not sure I'd get them all lined up. I will however have a look at cutting some slits on the Wizard - that'll be 32 openings though

Re: ideas for 1st day covers?
Well I did consider that Jim, but on balance I think with 8 envelopes the over presence of the slightly reflective Melinex would dominate. I have in front of me PFM article Dec 2001; Mounting with clear polyester film article2007 rev 1/08 and your earlier book on the same topic - all are gems. I'm g...

Re: ideas for 1st day covers?
2 great suggestions, thank you. I'd been thinking along the lines of a band mylar band around the envelopes but both suggestions will give a much cleaner look. I'll let the guy consider both options, PEL do the self adhesive corner mounts as you might know.
