Glad to hear things worked out for you  Would be interested to see how the finished article looked - been trying to do a few things myself and I love to see other examples!

Thanks for the update :)

Re: Securing stretched canvas in frame

Hey! Hi, I've seen those actually and until you'd mentioned them I'd forgotten :head: The guy needs it for tomorrow though, it's for some exhibition. I'll get some next order as I'm sure they'll be useful to have.

Cheers sire :)

Securing stretched canvas in frame

Hi Guys Got someone who brought me in smallish (about 300x400) prestretched canvas and then choose a suitable moulding. Easy job methinks, however ..... my snag is that the painting sits virtually flush within the moulding rebate - no way to use offset clips etc. I was thinking of just cutting four ...

Re: What thread forCross stitch?

When I was being trained I was always told to use mercerised cotton thread - easier to work with apparently, I've never questioned it as I've never had any problems :)

when I seen the title I was going to suggest a special saddle or something, after reading the posts maybe that suggestion wasn't really suitable.

It's warm

Great mini tutorial - I'd gladly pay you a visit for a full course like that but getting to you (travel etc etc) would be the problem :(

Cheers

I must say, that is very impressive!!! How long, with all the processes, does it take until it's looking like that?

Re: DJ Simons Brochure

They really are an odd company :) - very nice/pleasant/helpful and all the rest, but the little things, like asking for something sample or a catalogue normally takes ages to get sorted. I had to wait months for the 'latest' catalogue.

Re: Advertising in doctors waiting rooms

I try and watch and read anything going in waiting rooms -trying to waste time and avoid conversation with the others, not that I'm antisocial but I just want to get out of there as fast as, I'm a sucker for a sad story and ofter carry the weight of other peoples burdens (not through choice) so if I...

Re: Do I need SageCover?

Hard to say - it is great cover from a support point of view. Do you 'need' it though? Hmmmm, not sure - but you are desperate and can find no other solution for your problem you can always renew it at that point. Have you checked the cost? From what I can remember it isn't cheap! You should be able...

Re: New website feedback please

Hi Bart Site looks technically good, but as Prospero said maybe a bit too much animation/sound effects. What you do is great, some really nice frames in there..... but if I were a real customer, maybe someone just having a browse I don't think I'd have stayed too long on your site. Certainly ...

Re: Block mounting "Holiday" paintings on Linen

I've used PVA in the past and stuck them onto MDF - Just keep an eye out for 'bubbles' etc - I let the PVA get a little tacky before adding the canvas and then break my arm rolling it flat, if the paint is raised or thick in places use a sheet of foam board between the roller & canvas (good tric...

Re: Non-conservation MBE cert.

Ah, cheers - I 'zoomed' in on your pic but couldn't see anything apart from the gap! thought maybe you used one of those fancy things that Lion do. I only have the not so fancy white foam board but I'll cut a few little strips from the mount board to cover it.

Thanks again :)
