That's quite interesting. Stearite powder used to be used in electrical insulators. It's a bit like powdered ceramic, maybe I could make some by grinding up something!

That looks like it could be a Gieli machine, made in italy. They always used to the suppoerted with spares by Wessex pictures. They have a reputation as very solid and good machines.
