Re: Flecks in Mount Board

Unfortunately it seems to be happening with a few boards from different suppliers - mainly whites - I've had issues with Colour mount's Iced White for a while now (used to use it a lot, less now though) and I've had the same issue this week with Colourmount Essence White & Arqadia's Soft White &...

Re: Hand prints moulded in clear glass.

Sink Mount? If it's not the edge of the glass that's the feature? Seems a shame to hide it mind, but then again, we can only obey the laws of physics in this job (contrary to customers belief)

Re: removable medal attachments

Had these in a (previously framed) medal frame - pushed through from the back, the bar then goes through the holes. However I've never been able to find any more,or even a name for them!!

They should do the trick! If not, I've previously used 2 canvas offsets for the bar to hang on?

Re: Aesthetic opinions please

I went a little OTT in the other direction (would have done a wider mount, but only had a play on my phone with the Larson Juhl page, and I couldn't change the border sizes!). I would also get rid of the white on the one - I did that without realising there was a white border on the initial image!

Devon Based Framers

Afternoon all! I'm taking a trip down to Devon (Sidmouth) next week for a few days, with the Wife, and some friends. Just putting it out there that I may come and annoy some of you/pop in to have a little nosy round some other shops if that's ok? Not a promise as I'm not sure who is close to Sidmout...

Now this is a job I would loooove!!!!:) I'd be most tempted to give it all up here - if only the lease on my shop ended this year rather than next!!

Re: Blasted blue specks

I mentioned this a few weeks back in another thread - whereby it was incredibly prevalent in My most used boards - harvest beige & iced white. I must have gone through hundreds of boards which have been problematic over the past few months on the hope that I would be getting a different batch. I...

Re: Muted mountboard

Colourmount Harvest Beige used to be my 'go to board' nice and neutral - however in the past few months the quality seems to have taken a dip...lots of little black bits just under the surface paper here and there ... Must have gone through over 100 boards (if not 200) with the issue from different ...

Re: What baldes to buy?

I'm a Framers Corner convert! Got 2 sets of them - and they outperform my 3 morso ones! I've seen that some don't get on with them - but I tend to keep my framers corners ones on as much as possible and only use the morso ones if both sets of FCs are away for sharpening! But you must go with what yo...

literally just finished this!! The kind of job I could have done without 2 days before getting married, 1 day before exchanging on a house! Talk about stressful times! Any ways, I'm relatively happy with how this has turned out! Fingers crossed the customers like it when they pick it up tomorrow!! :...

Re: Wru Jersey

That one is a little out of town - maybe 5 or 6 miles - it's in pandy really - so didn't think that was the one John was talking bout! But it's odd even though it's that far out of town that it's still classed as abergavenny!

Re: Fabric for wrapping

Sarah, Just had my Simon Rep in, mentioned it to him - you are just out of his area - but he has passed on your details to the rep in your area. He said he was going to give him a call later this afternoon too. So you may have a call from a chap from Simons, he may pop in - or you may just get a cat...
