That's a shame, but not really a surprise.
So who will be exhibiting on the framing side, if any?

Re: Website interactive visualisation software
I had a phone call from Ricky at Mainline mouldings this morning, he told me that they are in the process of producing the kind of software that we are looking for and it will be launched in the not too distant future. I think initially for their own mouldings and mountboard then hopefully it will a...

Re: Website interactive visualisation software
Thanks for the replies so far. I know what you mean about the difference between monitor displays, also agree about getting a good image isn't easy, I have tried. But there are quite a few decent sites out there that appear to be doing good business, and as much as I would like to rely on shop trade...

Website interactive visualisation software
Does anyone know of a good software for use on a website where customers can view frame and mount choices, that change with the sizes an colours they input and also that they can upload their own images to get an idea of the finished article. The sort of thing that is on this website; http://www.efr...

I had a word with Mark Griffiths ( framing engineer ) last week about it, he had just come back from france a nd Cassese are ...

Re: Cutting perspex
Depends on the thickness you are trying to cut but assuming it is 1.2mm or 2mm thick, you just need to score it with a normal stanley blade and then snap it along the edge of your bench.

How to charge for displaying customers artwork
We have just opened a second shop, but this one is dedicated purely to framing with a small gallery (first one is a gift shop as well), we have also moved the workshop for all the framing into the new premises. Quite a few local artists and photographers have enquired if we would display and sell th...

Re: Mounting and framing old title deeds
Thanks for the replies up to now guys. Anything that involved tape on the back was a definite no from the customer. Which led me to the possible mylar solution, but as Robo says that or the ribbon corners isn't a good idea I'm a little unsure what to do.

Re: VAT flat rate scheme
We have used the flat rate scheme for the last few years, but we are also a gift shop and we combine it with the framing. The gift shop is turning over slightly more than the framing so as that is the dominant one we use the category 'retail not listed elsewhere' . The percentage has just risen to 7...

Re: Backing board, how do you store yours?
Sorry prospero forgot to mention the heating is not portable gas, we have gas central heating but no radiators anywhere near the boards, only one radiator on the first floor and that's in a different room.
