Re: Storage of mouldings - Horizontal or Vertical?

Thanks for the advice, I will be moving to vertical storing . Our workshop is in a Barn so room and height is not an issue. I just put the racking up without thinking through what was best, but unless I get a request for a very strange shaped frame, that moulding is ruined!

Cheers

Storage of mouldings - Horizontal or Vertical?

Hi all, I was wondering your methods for storing your stock of mouldings? Being relatively new, I purchased some racking: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Triton-Wood-Timber-Pipe-Rack-Shelf-Storage-WRA001-/370244279852?pt=UK_BOI_Building_Materials_Supplies_Carpentry_Woodwork_ET&hash=item5634475e2c I assume...

Re: Under-pinners

I would have been better going for Roboframer's offer. The 2 boxes I bought just turned up and they were both only half full! :(

Re: Under-pinners

Sorry, you were just beaten to it, I just purchased a couple of boxes for £80 per cubic metre. Of course, I am taking a punt, yours may be better quality :D

Re: I could be sick.

I did one recently (pink is the this seasons black in our village!) and I used an unfinished moulding and spray painted it. I used an oil based gloss, but thinned it with white spirit to stop it clogging. It took a few coats, but came up an absolute treat with no brush marks. In order to stop you de...

Re: Under-pinners

Thanks for the information on the Ultimo and link. I don't currently keep too much mount board in stock, as I can get it delivered free from my local supplier twice a week, so just keep some favorites in although it is amazing how quickly stock builds up. I like the idea of utilising the space under...

Re: Under-pinners

I like the workshop setup, where did you get the mount board storage for under your table. I am currently storing mine in an old map chest which is ok, but I would much rather have it under my table. I am having to raise the table height in any case as I have just built my underpinner into the table...

Re: Royal Mail Collection

It is worth noting that on parcel2go on the international rates, they only advertise 3 day Fedex Shipping, but I use this a lot and it books it on the 24 hour international priority service (fully tracked) every time. Fedex gave me 50% discount for the International Priority Service, but I reckon th...

Re: Royal Mail Collection

Hi James, We have the same type of contract with Royal Mail, where you use their Despatch Express software. We had a problem with the same thing, paying £500 for collection, but we got a friendly Account Manager over who said that if we said that our business was growing, then we would probably hit ...

Re: Keencut Oval 6 For Sale

Hi Jim, If you have no other takers for the Oval Mount Cutter, I may be interested. In terms of collection, would it be possible to take it with you to the Lion Event on the 17th October. I am trying to make it, but have my leg in a big airboot (not ideal when using a Morso!), but if I am not there,...

Instructions for Euro underpinner

I was wondering if by any chance anyone had the instruction manual lying around for the Euro 9000 underpinner? I only picked it up a few days ago, and I am really happy with it, but instructions would be useful.

Many thanks

Re: WANTED: Morso bits & underpinner

Hi there, Welcome to the Forum, I am pretty much a newbie too. There are a few underpinners on ebay at the moment depending what your budget is? Having started out just framing paintings we purchased at auction for our Antiques business, it has developed quickly into a good business. Not sure if you...

Re: Ultimat Gold and underpinner wanted

Hi Rob, I think that we both had a bit of luck as I think I have purchased the Morso from the same chap. I was watching his items on ebay, but saw that you had done a deal earlier with the cassese so contacted him to get the Morso which I am picking up next week. I will continue the search for the o...

Ultimat Gold and underpinner wanted

Hello all, This is my first post, as I am reasonably new to framing so please excuse my ignorance. I am looking for either a Keencut Ultimat Gold Mount cutter, preferably 48" but 40" will be ok. I am also looking for an underpinner, either a cassese or Minigraf. I have just purchased a Mor...
