Re: Heavy duty strut back ideas?

Try Lion, page 103 ref306 and 1911 Cheval Mirror Swivals and perhaps page 130 Fire Screen feet .
Make two frames, one for mirror the other for the stand with the swivals between.

Re: ways to hang a wooden plaque

Flush Mounts from Simons, ref PS/72 Page 73 of new red Catalogue machinery/fittings etc screw one to the work and one to the wall. I use a lot of these for a local cricket club on some small framed pictures that they want hung flat against the wall ( I rivet one to the back of the picture, and they...

Re: MOUNT BOARD CHOICE

I also use their KEY range which works out alot cheaper for my football shirts. The only other mountboard I use is the old "favourite", Arqadia 8065 . If you compare like for like - acid free and buying a pack of 10 it does work out cheaper per the square cm if you go to the 5th decimal p...

Re: MOUNT BOARD CHOICE

how many readymade suppliers make 30*40's photography customers using hundreds of readymades buy 16*12 simples Loads just look at Ikea, nearly all in metric, yeah you find photography customers still hanging on to the old imperial sizes, even when most new cameras don't come out as that ratio any m...

Re: MOUNT BOARD CHOICE

I Use Colourmount for most of my range, followed by Arqadia for dark colours, I have found most other makes dark colours tend to scuff easy, and I use Daler 8200 for one customer's shaped window work, as I find that it will allow more detail cutting, and blade ware is low on Daler. Funny J2M as I fo...

Re: Frame labels

Sorry I don't like the look of the stamps on the back of the frames, I find they look the same as the small black type on gold labels, not very professional, I hope I've not hurt anybodies feelings, but I just do not like them, it's a personal thing (like most things in life).

I use cord and proud of it, I see that Jolly Good Framer #1 likes to angle his double D-Rings as I do  , and I don't think you have the cord too tight either.

Welcome to the forum Headlines,
Had a look at your website, you seem to have a niche market, a bit different from over here, we do not seem to have the call for your type of work.

If you do any work on these frames, I would look out for cross contamination with other frames and artwork you might have in your workshop :head:

Re: Trimming Dry Mounted Photos ?

Trim one edge, then stick it in your wall cutter to trim the other three sides, if you set the stops, you can trim to size

Easy!

We use Avery labels that we print ourselves. Never had any problem with them sticking and because they are behind the frame hardly any fading, it any. Same here, just use the same background for each type of label, just print off a sheet of 21 whenever we need them ReadyMades label.jpg picture labe...
