Be very careful if you're going to use plasticine or blue tack to pad the clamp...... don't forget that blue tack is a kind of glue-type-thing. If you are joining certain mouldings, say gold "leaf" covered ones it may beautifully lift the gold surface off the corners and leave it stuck to ...
