Re: Query

Hi

This one was 160 x 130 cm. Used Acrylic to limit weight - not to lower cost.

Charged considerably more than £1245 I must say !

Re: Me old China!

Hi

Size meant weight was an issue so used Acrylic with UV protection.

Re: woodworm

hi

actual holes and wood dust.

Would there not be holes already if the eggs had been laid?

Plan to reframe as a gesture of good will anyway but curious as to origin of the problem

Best regards

Hi all just has a customer bring back a frame I did some 18 months ago. She was complaining that there was a white powdery substance settling in the frame. The mount had also warped and appeared to be mildly damp. She swears her house is dry and if anything - the artwork more likely to be damaged by...

Re: Compressors and Compressed Air Tools

Hi I use air for Matpro -120, Underpinner, Nail gun, Stapler and Tab Gun. Saves time and energy! I I bought Framers corner stapler and point driver. Lower end price range but do the job for a small '/ medium turnover business. Only issue I have with tab Gun is that the points don't lie as flat as I ...

Re: coins - double glass frame

Hi all Thank you all very much for your replies. Sorry I have been so tardy in looking at them! I probably didn't explain very well but as Robo concluded - we do not need to see the sides - just the whole of the front and back of the coin. It would seem that the best way remains sandwiching mount bo...

coins - double glass frame

Hi Have a customer who wants two 2.5cm Diameter coins framed - in a double sides scenario- so that both sides can be seen. Have done this before by making a sandwich mount but problem with these is that the edge detail on on the the face and obverse of the coin is of prime importance and I cant cove...

Re: What's the best way to frame a folded map

Hi I have recently done one of these maps. They are not of any significant value - street art I think. I simply mounted using a standard sandwich mount and acid free hinges. The finished product obviously showed crease marks but that was all part of the look. I have a heatpress and offered the custo...

Aluminium Frames

Hi all Appreciate some advice. Have had a customer come in with some rare and expensive art works - of the modern art variety. They want to float mount the works - (deckled edges) but want aluminium frames because they want a thin / strong and contemporary look. First question is: Has anyone used al...
