Re: Wanted - Morso

Hi Iain,

I'm interested in the Morso. Do you have any more info on it? Are there any spare blades included with the machine? Is it in fine working order and do the blades on the machine cut well or are they due a sharpen?

Thanks.

Re: Wanted - Morso

Guys,

Just for my info,

How much do you most often see Morso model Fs going for? So I know what sort of range in prices I should be expecting to pay.

Thanks.

Re: Suggested suppliers non trade

First of all, thank you for sharing that Mark. And thanks for the link jaybee. Mark, I'll be honest... I have no idea how to actually officially 'start'. I have, up to now, only made and sold a handful of frames to people who weren't friends or family. And even those people where people who were fri...

Re: Suggested suppliers non trade

I'll be sure to check out the forum for some info, Mark. Also, I agree with and applaud the fact that you've done what you've done because of the satisfaction you've got from it. I've been told that the place I work is planned to shut at the end of next year and we're all being made redundant. This ...

Re: Suggested suppliers non trade

Thanks Mark,

I will be sure to ask. Do you have any links or info you'd be able to share about hand finishing in the meantime so I can do some research in the meantime?

Cheers.

Re: Suggested suppliers non trade

Thank you for your kind offer prospero, it is greatly appreciated. I drive down the A46 every day for work so pass Lincoln daily, so not too far away. Come the new year, I may take you up on that kind offer... if you haven't got fed up and had a clear out by then. I've just registered an account wit...

Wanted - Morso

Hi guys, After making picture frames for the past year using my table saw and a home made jig, I think I'd finally like to sink some cash into a Morso. I've looked at a few on ebay and have shown some interest in some but not bit the bullet as of yet. If you're selling, or know if one that is in goo...

Re: Suggested suppliers non trade

Thanks for the replies. It would be wonderful if I'd be able to run this as a small business from home, and that is eventually my goal. I have always wanted to run a small business and I have two other family members who do the same (very unrelated to framing). Like you say, Gesso, at the moment, I ...

Suggested suppliers non trade

Hi guys, Could anyone recommend a supplier for the necessaries such as mount board, undermount, glass, backing etc? I did a search on the forum and found a few recommendations for Wessex Pictures but their website states that are trade suppliers only. As a novice in the business as well as framing w...

Re: Framing equipment

Thanks for the replies. And thanks Justin, I checked the advert out. It looks like an impressive piece of kit. I definitely think that I'd like my next purchase to be a Morso. Once I've sorted that out, It will be onto looking for a proper mount cutter. I'll be sure to check out the sales section, a...

Re: Framing equipment

At this current time, It's a system that sort of works, but I find myself having to find lots of work-arounds which takes time. I'm trying to stay away from pinning my mitered pieces together and sticking with the splines and glue. I personally prefer to do it this way, I know it takes much more tim...

Re: Hello from Lincolnshire

Hi Mark/Prospero. Thanks for the warm welcome. Mark, sorry to hear about your stroke. It sounds like you have made the best out of an awful event. I know how this feels, I had to have Brain surgery at the end of 2018 and this has left me with certain limitations, but its the workarounds that we find...

Framing equipment

Hi guys, This is my first thread after my "Hello!" in the introductions section so as a beginner in my framing journey, I'd like to start from the top... Equipment. OK... not the VERY top, but somewhere in that region... As I mentioned in my introductory post, I believe it's important to s...

Hello from Lincolnshire

Hi guys and gals.... I'd just like to stop by the introductions sections and say hello from your newest recruit. My name's Tom, and I've been a keen DIYer and woodworker for almost 10 years and amateur photographer for about the past 4 years. I'm 27 years old/young and recently have found (the past ...
