Re: DIY Scroll Bracket Fixing Tool

Oops nearly quoted you then John :giggle: :giggle: Yes you do get a couple of bumps, but if you are using a barrier board behind the artwork/photo, should be no problem, the metal base helps to make the hangers more secure, if the spiky things should come through (depending on the thickness of the b...

Re: DIY Scroll Bracket Fixing Tool

Sorry, the star bit on the base plate is for the self-piercing rivets, the star helps the rivets to bend over, so scrub that for the hangers, but a metal base will help the spiky bits grab into the board, because if you have it on the bench top a lot of the energy will wasted and pass to the surface ...

Re: DIY Scroll Bracket Fixing Tool

Whichever way you choose, you will need a metal base to help the splaying out of the spiky bits, on the Wun-Tool I got from Simons, there is a base plate with a star shape in it to make the spiky bits splay out and catch in the board, if you look at some of the bought strut-backs you will see what I...

Re: DIY Scroll Bracket Fixing Tool

You might be able to utilise an old Black & Decker pillar drill attachment, have a look in your old toolbox/shed or on eBay might find one cheap

I've used the the hangers on Simons Back/10 and they work fine, I bought the press from Simons and use it to put hangers on all my R/Ms up A4, looks neat and professional.

Re: Small problem with Valiani

Thanks Tudor Rose,
I just checked and you are right, it does put extra nodes in when you save it (damm stupid idea) and I had it set up to auto-save as well (changed that now), but I still get problems once I've saved it in the Val software.
But thanks for the info

Re: Small problem with Valiani

Hi Johnny, Thanks for the info, I contact Mal later. I can open the original CorelDraw file in CorelDraw OK and the number of nodes are fine, but when I open the PLT file in CorelDraw there are loads of nodes, I have edited these files and re-exported the PLT files ( using different file name) and t...

Small problem with Valiani

I got a problem with my Valiani, as some of you know I do a lot of shaped windows such as animals, elephants, bears , dogs and such, my customer send me her designs via email, I open them in CorelDraw and trace them. I then save them as a Corel file, then export them as PTL files, in the Valiani sof...

Looks like a Byron Mouldings one, but where you can get it from now I have no idea, just looked through Renaissance's catalogue , they have some of the Byrons old range but not that one.
Sorry can't help more

Re: URGENT- Please check this site- Re Copyright

Sorry John, My first post was to make other members aware and to check to see if any of their images were being used in this way, so they could also ask for them to be removed from that site. I did not set out to name and shame, only to point members to maybe an infringement of their property, I'm s...

Re: Google AddWords

Try "Ashcraft" in you keywords, as you are a framer in Ashcraft, and it's in your keywords and description meta data on your site, people do tend to Google for things in the area, so a common search would be" Picture framing services in Ashcraft". Also try miss-spelling keywords ...

Re: most economical way to frame a3/a2/a1?

Forget eBay... There are people on there selling canvas prints 20" x 30" for £17.99 Delivered! I can't make one for that! Problem with ebay and Joe Public is that they don't perceive price with quality. All they look for is the cheapest price. That's why we have people coming in with a ca...

Re: most economical way to frame a3/a2/a1?

Just sell them mounted, but not in A sizes, make them standard sizes where your customer can obtain a wider range of frames in standard sizes. Make them in these sizes, A1 60x80cm, A2 40x60cm , A3 30x40cm, you will find more frames in these sizes than the A sizes. Also you can cut down on yor Postag...
