Hi 'MountedMemoriesUK', if you see this can you please give me an idea of what equipment/materials I would need :)

Cheers

Re: Trying a new finish

Man! The finish on the frame is great but what the frame is holding is fantastic!!!  Those paintings are incredible - that's a real art & talent itself :D

Re: label printer

Indeed - I've learnt my lesson with using coloured stickers  However, for my 'back of frame' stickers I get someone else to do them now - works out far cheaper! There's a guy across that the road from me that does signage - he can do an entire roll on self adhesive material (something like 6ft ...

Re: Underpinning issue

All good advice above & I'd also check on the vertical fences with your underpinner

Re: label printer

" repeatedly feeding the same sheet of labels through is not usually a particularly successful thing to do." I've never had a problem doing that & it's a fairly regular thing I would do - but I'm not sure if I'm following you correctly though. I only put the sheet of labels through onc...

Re: label printer

You could just use any colour printer and get some A4 sheets with self adhesive stickers already in it & various sizes are available (if that sentence makes sense). Most will have a template that you can use in Word etc

If it sells for £100 then someone has a fantastic bargain!! If I lived closer I buy it myself - just as a backup :)

Re: Engraver for plaques etc?

A sublimation printer and a heat press sounds like an interesting option. I'd be interested to hear more :)

Re: Engraver for plaques etc?

Hi, at that price I'd take it anyway even to just to have as a cool gadget :) But unfortunately, the distance I'd need to cover in order to collect it doesn't justify it. I did look at taking the ferry but even that was in excess of £400 for travelling over the weekend.

It's a bargain anyway :)

Re: Engraver for plaques etc?

Hi Steve

I don't even think I'd ever need to cut something as 'big' as A4, keep me in mind if you ever do put your machine up for sale :)

Re: Engraver for plaques etc?

On the software front, my guy just uses Corel Draw to do all the design/text, then there's an application layer provided by the engraver that converts the 'printing' into laser burning :) It's pretty straight forward actually. I've taken a look at those Ebay listings and it looks promising but it al...

Engraver for plaques etc?

Hi We do quite a bit of sporting related framing and we often get asked to add a plaque or the like into the piece. At the moment we use a local guy for this - he uses a silver or bronze/gold type of slim acrylic - it's engraved with laser and under the glass it looks fine. But my issue is that he c...

Re: Daler Rowney Boards not Square

Regardless of what brand I've used over the years I've never found any of them to be square - I've just come to expect it so I square every board & at this point I don't even think about it - it just makes life easier :)

Expression De-Roller

Hi everyone

Is anyone selling one of these bad boys....?

Re: Bendy bevel cuts

Hi I've recently had a similar issue to the OP. This was before lockdown, anyway I dropped an email to Keencut and then made a few calls only to be told to check the manual etc etc - really no use at all. Then after we came back I sent off another mail looking for an update, this time I was contacte...

New underpinner?

Hi everyone I'm considering upgrading to a new underpinner - the cs200 but I've got a practical question that maybe someone can advise on..... At the moment I've got a cs88 'integrated' into my workbench and it works quite well, longer lengths are supported whilst joining and it doesn't take up too ...

Re: Morso nightmare

Before I'd change anything with the morso I'd get a new set of blades. Any issue I've ever had with mine has always been down to blades.

I know they're not cheap but for the sake of your sanity I reckon it's a worthwhile investment. :)

Re: Where to order card - large size!

Hi Sophie

That shouldn't be too hard to source, the size you mention is smaller than most standard sheets of mount board so any local framer should be able to sort you out.

I'm sure it's available online but the postage costs would probably kill it.

I hope that's of some help
