Re: issue with administrator

While it may be honourable to defend your friend as you see fit, surely it is not going to help their health to have any disagreements made so public? This wasn't even posted in members only!

In my opinion this sort of thing should be left to PMs and kept between the associated people.

What a great Land Rover piece - love it

We've only used the cove box designer a few times, but it is so easy to use and saves tons of work - thanks John.

Re: Handlacing Needlework

Everyone has their own methods for dealing with needlework that comes in for framing and it is not just about how long it takes to do the actual lacing, or support stiching, or pinning, or whatever method you use for a particular piece of work. You need to factor in how long it takes you from start ...

Re: Handlacing Needlework

Hi Jayne

We would charge £18 for lacing a 14" x 14" and something that size would be done in no more than about 30-45 minutes.

We found the Framing Needlework book by Vivian Kistler was a great help in perfecting techniques. We got our copy from Lions.

Fair play to you John, seems like a very gentle warning was given, nothing excessive.

Re: MOUNT BOARD CHOICE

when you are doing runs of things like you do that would make a difference to how you set things up, but most of our stuff is not contract type runs so mounts are far more likely to be cut from blanks cut on the wall mounted cutter, and that way you get more out of the board because you don't have t...

Re: MOUNT BOARD CHOICE

We just use Arqadia boards and we buy by the pack direct from Arqadia because we go through the stock reasonably quickly. We buy some of our whites/creams in packs of 25 sheets too because the price is far better and we go through it so fast. We have looked at other board manufacturers but still pre...

Have you tried contacting Wessex? They will cut mounts to size for you and deliver - so it might be worth giving them a ring.

Re: suppliers

If you are happy with Wessex and want to use chop then Frintons (part of Wessex) now do their whole range in chop and that would be delivered to you by courier, so no waiting for a van. Arqadia chop service is also excellent - again carriage to pay but you just build it into the price you charge. At...

Re: suppliers

Hi Calico Why limit yourself to certain suppliers just because you think the "bigger boys" won't want to deal with you? Choose a few good suppliers and get in touch with them, I can't see anyone turning business down in this economic climate. You might have to pay carriage on your order bu...
