Re: Morso Blades
I now have 4 working sets so don't need any spares, and these ones are too short so need a bit of morso adjustment to cut through.

Re: Labels for back of frames
I get stickers for the back of the frames from Discount Stickers Limited. I used to use Vistaprint but they peeled off before the frames were out the door.

Ideas for old chevrons
I don't want to throw them out. Any ideas for using them, displaying them, or giving them away?

Re: Morso Blades
Yes, up to 40mm apparently. The majority of my mouldings are this size or less so that shouldn't be a big deal.

Morso Blades
I'm looking for a new set of Morso blades, either new or with plenty of life left in them.
Any suggestions for where to buy?
Has anyone got a double ended set and is it worth paying extra for them to get more time with sharpened blades?

Re: Morso Mitre handle stuck on 13th tooth arc
PXL_20231218_171544648~2.jpg Have a look here, double check nothing is sitting here stopping the blades moving forward. PXL_20231218_171507736~2.jpg I assume you don't have the chute thing as it doesn't look it from your video but double check this rod can move freely back and forward. PXL_20231218...

Re: Morso Mitre handle stuck on 13th tooth arc
It definitely sounds as though something is stuck somewhere. Just have a careful good look around all the moving parts and pieces. Start with the arm and check there is room for it to move further, then follow it to under the blade. Then check the blade can move forward, especially as it meets the m...

Re: Filling grain on obeche
Surely if the wood grain on obeche is a problem you would be better buying a more expensive timber that doesn't have the same wood grain?
Any savings by buying cheaper obeche are wiped out when putting too much effort into filling the grain or putting on many coats of a finish.

If the stretched canvas sticks out the back just use canvas offsets.

Re: Newspaper - Direct Contact Overlay
The customer was in charge of deciding whether the newspaper was folded in half or not, the undermount width (around 50mm), colour, and frame style (around 30mm wide). I was in charge of the method for mounting the newspaper, and the spacer under the frame rebate. The customer wasn't particularly co...

Re: Newspaper - Direct Contact Overlay
Interesting article John, thanks for sharing.
I'm not totally sure, though, why he's gone for direct contact overlay when he already has the newspaper encased in melinex and 'floating' on its own. Why not just have larger spacers and then use glass that isn't touching the melinex?

Re: Tiles into coasters?
Probably wait until you've got them and then post pictures, but I'm thinking just frame them as normal and then add 4 bumpers on the bottom.
I'm not sure why you would want or need to glue the tiles to something else.

Re: First OS map coming in tomorrow....
You haven't said the size so difficult to give a suitable moulding size, but in general terms it's up to you. Don't be talked into using a moulding that is too narrow as the customer isn't always right. It's possible to use a narrow moulding and add a subframe at the back, but that can be tricky and...

Re: Do you photograph your finished frames? If so, do you publish them?
Does she have a business profile, Keith, as that's her personal profile so the last thing I can see is from 2017. As for the OP, if you search 'photograph reflection' in the search box you will find it has been discussed many times. For me, I normally lie the finished frame on the ground and stand a...

Re: Keencut Ultimat Futura Advice
If the scale is out by 1mm over its length rather than always being 1mm out the adjustments on the keencut won't help. If you adjust the 1mm at 900mm so it's correct it will then be 1mm out at 40mm. I'm not sure it matters for 1mm but as it's a really easy fix I would want it to be correct to start ...
