Re: Cassese 969 smart stop or no smart stop?

We've been using a smart stop for about 5 years now and I would highly recommend it for a bespoke framer. Its robust very accurate and easy to use :D

Photo's to stand

I'm looking for a supplier of a product that would allow a frame 20cm x 20cm to stand- (the moulding is 40mm wide)

Of course I know about stand up backs with extended legs, but hopefully someone, somewhere has come up with a better product at a similar price? Any recommendations please

Re: Handiwrap alternative?

Researching more environmentally packaging materials is something that's been on my mind for a while. I'm also concerned how much un recyclable plastic we use. You can now get biodegradable pallet wrap https://www.lindumpackaging.com/biodegradable-pallet-wrap-2/ Hopefully this will be available in t...

Re: Compressor leak....

It depends where it's leaking and a small amount of soapy water should help you identify this - Just check the jubilee clip isn't at the end of it's thread.

Anyone know where to get this moulding?

Hi Some years ago we used to use a moulding we referred to as 'plank' . Its 70mm wide x 22mm deep, rustic pine finish with a slightly raised grain that's darkened. Plank 2.JPG Does anyone know of a supplier who has this - we need it in reasonably large quantities. Many thanks Plank Frame.JPG

Re: Underpinner problem - help please

I've never used one of these particular underpinners but it looks to be a similar construction to a Euro pinner we had when we started out. I can only think that either the top clamp pressure isn't great enough, the mouldings too hard or there's something wrong with the mechanism that pushes the pin...

Thanks Richard, had this machine tucked away I can't even remember it's name!
When you say you only use a facemount adhesive, does that mean no laminate on top of the image?

Dibond

We are getting more and more enquiries for Dibond prints (prints adhered to aluminium sheet). We have framed these in the traditional way but I'm also aware that you can use this process without frame or glass, just hanging from a sub-frame. I wondered if this mounting process is possible with a Jet...

Re: Spray Booth

To spray frames in any number I think you need a dedicated room with extraction, drying racks and a sink for clean up. You will also need a reasonably sized compressor. We use one with a 300ltr receiver and it works quite hard The prep of frames, both prior and between coats, creates lots of dust. W...

Good to see the government has come to its senses, although Mr Hammond must be 'a dead man walking' in regards to his job.
Hoping for a reversal on the dividend tax free cut now, but not holding my breath :head:

Re: The budget

This budget has increased tax on entrepreneurial risk takers, increased tax on the self employed who get minimal sick pay, no company pension, no paid holidays and no redundancy if it all goes wrong and all from a government that promised not to raise NI contributions in its manifesto. After encoura...

We use Estlite and it's right up there with some of the best software we have purchased over the years- We have learnt to adapt Estlite for our own use and its now a keystone for our business for pricing, progress chasing work, stock control as well as holding a database of our customers and their w...

Re: Sealing hand painted frames

We're fortunate enough to have a spray booth with dry back filter and use HVLP spray guns that run from our compressor as we also spray the frames.
When this varnish is sprayed its touch dry in 20mins but needs about 24hours to fully cure
