btw. I once saw a computerised washline-drawing machine, much along the same principles. It even did the wash by drawing 1000's of close lines. It was amazing to watch. It would use one pen and then drop it and pick up another colour/width. I don't know whether these machines are still made. Mind y...

Does Size Matter?

I'm in the process of deciding whether to put Pre View in the shop and was wondering what size screens existing users show customers the visulisations on?

Thanks in advance

As a BMW driver the services always seem well above £500 and can be getting near a grand on occasion, but long service intervals and its just a dream to drive. :D

I'll certainly be experimenting with your mixture mark- but all sounds very interesting.
Applying by brush is causing too much preperation for guilding on.

thanks for all the advice

Spraying Gesso?

I was wondering if there is a product akin to gesso that could be sprayed?

We currently have a spray booth for painted finishes on wood but I'm interested in applying gesso in a more uniform and hopefully faster manner.

Any help would be gratefully recieved :D

When I frame these cards I use glass both sides and have a mount with square cut aperture and find that the cards need no sticking- and stay put! If your viewing both sides anything you use to stick will be seen. I've never used perspex, but reckon this would give too much. In the dim and distant pa...

[quote="avantime"]. I also use the PU expanding glue and flat sand the frames after joining. You can get a "fast grab" PU glue which dries in 5 mins. Hi avantime You reccommend and particular brand of PU glue? I find the clamp method works really well but pva a bit slow when you'...

Valiani Cuttermatec Special

I've got a 1998 Valiani Cuttermatec Special with end trimmer and full instuction manual. A great machine which takes a standard size board and is far faster at cutting mounts than a conventional mount cutter. Its just sat in the corner gathering dust for about the last 6 years since we had a CMC ins...

I'm by no means an expert either but we do regularly dry mount and laminate work. I've experienced the same problem as you some time ago and we solved it by putting the board in the press on its own for 2-3 mins to dry it out first and then laminate it as usual. For a 20" x 30" photo dry-m...
