Re: Banks

I agree totally, but with rapidly rising unemployment and the banks having no liquidity I fear the worse. However on a brighter note , if you've manage to hang on to your job, mortgage's are now cheaper than they've ever been, fuel is cheaper than 6 months ago , infact most things are being pitched ...

Re: Banks

We're certainly in unchartered waters- The media has been full of gloom and doom for some time and with good reason! This world is a very different place since the last reccesion and the excuberance of wealth we've seen in the last ten years has proved to be unsustainable. Of course its much easier ...

Re: morso splintering a moulding

Hi and welcome :D

I haven't used this moulding but have used simaliar ones and we pack the back out with plasticine to make the back flush. Its a bit long winded but does the trick!

Good Luck!

Re: Arqadia Claryl Glass

Granted, Claryl may not have the UV characteristics of TV Museum, but for customers looking for better optical clarity/reflection control (i.e. where what it looks like is more important than "top of the line" UV protection), I. Does this glass offer any UV protection? I've looked on Arqa...

I think he'll go wherever! I usually try and arrange to get servicing done at the same time as other local framers so as to keep travelling costs down.

Re: Cost cutting - Is this going too far?

As prospero says the difference in price between sheet and float glass would be considerable when using as much as W+G ( or their manufacturers) do. What are peoples expectations of a Ready Made Frame? I know a lot of you are busier than ever but my business is feeling the pinch. I've already had to...

Re: Taking on new staff

I had to lay one member of staff off last Friday. My figures for the year only show about a 6% drop in turnover but the " bottom line" has been reduced by about 14% due to the price increases caused by the weakness of sterling which we haven't felt able to pass on. I don't see things impro...

Re: Reduction in UK VAT rate

Previously the economy was controlled by both interest rates and taxation in combination so as to help maintain a good climate for British industry to flourish. I promise you I remember Nigel Lawson and his 15% interest rates! That certainly didn't help British Industry flourish. Manufacturing (and...

FATG Website

Any one know how the FATG are getting on with their proposed new website? I was reading the message from the Master of the guild in the 2007 accounts and it states "The new website is expected to be up and running during the first half of 2008." I decided to leave the FATG last year as I w...

Reports from estlite

Hi I'm just having a go with EstLite and I'm pleased with the pricing element but was wondering if it will create some of the reports my current(very old home written) system does. What I require is to print out a list on a Monday with all the work for the forthcoming week listing which work is due ...
