Fixing art work

I have an acrylic painting on 2mm hardboard, that the client wants framed with double mount and glass. Question is what have people found the best way to fix the artwork to backing, another first for me so want to use experience of the forum to help me?

Artwork is 390mmx480mm.

Thanks
Tom

Multiple mounts (sizes)

Trying out Estlite and have a question about when I am creating a job with double mounts. I can see where to add colour codes for mounts and then below where you add mount widths, how do people use this for double mounts? Do you just put the bottom mount widths, top mount widths, or the difference b...

Measuring a float frame

Right another first for me. Have a canvas to frame which is 765 x 660 and is not neat and tidy around edges (This is how the artist did it). Looking at using Lion L2794 Bloc tray frame, but want to double check measurements for cutting. The client wants 10mm clearance around to ensure not too tight ...

Re: Mount bonded to print

Update: I managed to separate the mount (was stuck with double sided tape on to the actual print (not the backing board) :head: Used an old blade from mount cutter and carefully slid from inside out then used bone to help keep mount up. Managed to get it completed off, a little damage :sweating: but...

Re: Mount bonded to print

I tend to do it another way, with a knife (rounded end such as a butter knife) gently prise back the mount at the window, using the knife, to lift the mount away from the print, doing it this way, if the print starts to tear, it will tear to the outer edge of the print, and not to the centre, you c...

Re: Mount bonded to print

Yes Prospero, it is about 30 years old and from what I can see at one part I have managed to open, could be what was used. Will gently try that technique tomorrow and see how I get on.

Thanks for the quick response.

Mount bonded to print

Hi, I am working on a re-framing job for a family member. I have found that the print is sandwiched between the mount board and a backing board  . Not exactly sure how it has been done but initial attempt to separate was not proving easy. The family member has said just cut it out around the e...

Cassese CS 1 Cart

Can anyone advise what the height of a Cassese CS 1 Cart machine is? I know the overall height is 1200mm but trying to find the height of the working table so I can plan my bench heights ahead of getting the machine, unfortunately not able to find any info on Cassese website or manuals.

Thanks
Tom

Mobile framing service

Has anyone got experience of operating a mobile framing service where you go to customer home with samples and get order to be made back at your workshop? Keen to get thoughts or experience ...
