Re: Coins

Try googling evo stik, you'll be amazed how many varieties there are on the market, even worse take a to a BandQ or similar, the adhesives and sealants section is about 20 yards long and it will include "sticks lke **"

Re: Coins

I'll say it again " I experimented" I used 1p coins, so low value and if a customer wanted their coins sticking down I would'nt have any issue in doing so. BTW Mark, the Evo Stik I refer to is not the old classic contact adhesive of glue sniffing fame. The ES serious glue is described in B...

Re: Coins

I experimented a little while back and glued a few different coins onto mount board (normal paper faced and suede) using evo stick serious stuff and evo stick serious glue.
Both worked very well and the coins had to be forcibly prised off and took the face paper with them when they did come off.

Re: BAmbi overheated

Afraid we all live under the same cloud, bad news. At pricing like that a brand new replacement just makes so much more sense than trying to repair the failed unit, no wonder we are a throw away society. I know that spares will always command a higher profit margin than new equipment sales but at th...

Re: BAmbi overheated

Hi Alan The top tank is, I think, the cover for the motor/compressor unit, BB24 or similar ?? Sounds like it has overheated and either seized the compressor or burnt the motor. Did it trip the mcb or blow a fuse. Best plan would probably be to contact Bambi in Birmingham https://www.bambi-air.co.uk ...

Re: Mount Board cutting system tips

Hi, The Keencut Ultimat Gold is a good place to start. The 40 inch /1000 mm model is probably a bit easier to manage than a 1200 mm if you intend to be lifting it on and off the bench. You do need to take a little car in handling it and storing it to avoid twisting the base. YouTube has a few videos...

Re: Frame open on last joint

Just looking back on the OP again.... I'm cannot believe Prospero is not reading this thread and not getting involved, nudge. Is there any way that the locating pin on the fences can allow some play ? Can it be disabled to allow some micro adjustment of the LH fence so it can be moved away from you ...

Re: Frame open on last joint

If you search CS55M several youtube videos as well as manuals come up.
Very similar to, if not better in some ways than than the morso and the basic adjustments are the same in principle.

Re: Frame open on last joint

I'm assuming the Cassese CS55m is basically same as a Morso. First thought that flies into my head is LH fence adjustment and that would normally address the gap issue. This topic was raised only a couple of days ago and you should be able to find it easily. As for the blades - It sounds like the bl...

Re: Triangle frame for snooker balls

Would buying a wooden snooker triangle solve your problem ? You can buy a really nice looking one on in solid mahogany on Amazon for £30 and there is a cheaper one as well https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/71pduRQY7JL._SL1500_.jpg Here's wishing everyone on the forum a happy, prospero...

Re: Damaging glass Excalibur 5000

I had the same problem but I've lined the channel with strips of styrene glazing stuck down with double sided tape and it works ! The glass does not slide as easy but its not a big deal to take the weight of the glass gently off the channel and ease it along carefully. The styrene is showing sign of...

Re: Big OS map

That frame should be strong enough even if you went for 3 mm glass. On a few jobs I've used a local sign company to dry mount large posters and maps on to 3 or 5 mm fomex and laminate. This makes for a lightweight package which is quite durable without any extra glazing and quite honestly looks the ...

Re: Hoffman Dovetail Router vs Cassese Underpinner

I suspect you might change your mind on the plastic dovetails when you see the Hoffmann demo. The W2 size is the stronger key but on a 20 x 20 moulding you will need to be careful where to position the router slot, don't go too close to the outer edge or you may get the moulding breaking away. I'm s...

The Hoffman is superb for many of the hard wood profiles but it will not replace the underpinner, you would need both.

Re: Framing Chinese scrolls without a mount

Assuming that the scrolls are not high value or are not otherwise deserving of specialist attention then I would consider simply sandwiching them between an under mount and acrylic / styrene glazing. I suppose glass could be used on top of the acrylic. I'm not sure if there would be any need for a s...

Re: Valiani Pro-i 150 (Manual Pneumatic Machine)

I have the Matpro 120 and experience the same problem with the rulers moving out of calibration. I'm not so sure transportation is the problem, it tends to happen gradually with use and I've never found a permanent or easy way of securing the rulers, tried tape, glue, bits of mount board and various...
