Re: football shirt design

"Do not engage" as advised by Justin seems very sensible advice. It might also be worth contacting the CMC manufacturers as well if you haven't already done so - there are so many templates and formats on their systems and they would have evidence of dates and so on for when those were cre...

Re: Using an underpinner - or not...

And yes Jo/Alec, this is on the list when I see you later this month...!! Absolutely, we will have a look at your machine set up and how this is working for you. You will get arguments either way from people who swear that their version is the right way to do it! Personally we glue and pin, adding ...

Re: Retiring all frameing equipment must go

Hi Philip The seller may be OK to post their email on the Forum. However, they may prefer not to do that at this point. If that is the case then you can contact the seller via private message, which is emailed to them, through the Forum. Underneath their details on the right hand side of their post,...

Re: FramR pricing software issues.

Hi Jamie We use FramR and haven't seen any problems as you've described. We have it running on two PCs at the moment and both are fine. We had been experiencing some lagging issues a few months ago, but that was down to an aging and struggling PC rather than a FramR problem, as our other PC didn't h...

Re: Mount border width cutting calculation.

Think of it as two different named versions of the measurement. You have the mount border size, and the visible border size. As Justin says, you can check the rebate depth of the moulding to see what the difference in those would be. We tend to just use the terminology with customers of mount border...

Re: football shirt design

Thank you for the information Nige2261.

I think that was the same sort of sentiment being shared back in 2019 when other very basic simple mount layouts were being "protected" as per my link, when again they are widely used. Hopefully other framers can help with shared images.

Re: football shirt design

Hi Suki It might help get responses if you give a clearer idea of what you are after, and why. There was a Forum post in 2019 that referred to mount designs being registered, such as these https://www.registered-design.service.gov.uk/find/bnd6mvoz/92379063/designsbyowner which caused a discussion at...

Re: What do you call this type of corner - and what is missing in the holes!

That's interesting that they gave it that name in their book and makes you wonder where they'd seen it in that connection - as you say it may have been a particular design that had been given that name. Like Vintage, we'd only ever previously seen that style referred to as Kent frames.

Re: Best glue

Another vote for Titebond

We use Titebond 1 the majority of the time, Titebond 3 on occasion.

But a bit like asking, "which is the best mountcutter?", everyone will have their favourite glue, as Vintage has intimated.

It’s been that long that I’d forgotten I’d recommended it! Glad you’re getting stuff sorted though.

Do you have a technical support contract with Wizard Germany? They changed the business model a few years ago when Framers Corner stopped being their distributor and UK support. My understanding (and I don't have a Wizard, just aware of previous chats about it) is that unless you have a contract wit...

I've not used a Frinton frame for a while now - is there enough rebate depth, or did you have to build out the back?
Even with trimming down the height of the Nielsen moulding, we did get them to build out the back as well.

This is one for our wall next to the design desk. We sell a good number of Frinton Frames every year and customers love the flexibility they offer to change decorative elements or colour. We decided to create a wall example to (hopefully) act as a great advert for selling even more of them! W...
