I would buy the book as well though!
I Googled the title and got a pdf. It looks like the book but is only 14 pages. Does the real book have more pages than that?

Just so long as Simons don't decide to bring a display of all their mouldings - otherwise we'll need to hire the NEC.

Re: Bowing Artwork

Has anyone ever had occassion to actually release the Artwork after dry mounting onto Artcare Restore ? Yes. Sometimes it isn't even necessary to heat the board first - just slide a piece of mountboard underneath. The bond is very weak and when broken the adhesive stays on the board rather than the...

Re: Bowing Artwork

So far I've had no problems with Artcare Restore. I've had to remove a few pieces of artwork when the customer has decided to have it reframed in a larger frame or where it's been for sale as mounted without a frame and has been damaged through rough handling. One artist customer yesterday decided s...

Why not have the best of both worlds and bond it down to Artcare Restore?

Re: Mitre Saw Jig

I started with an EZY system attached to a Nobex saw (http://www.axminster.co.uk/nobex-nobex-proman-mitre-saw-prod23027/ fitted with the 24 Tpi blade). It produced very good results and I can get mitres just as good as I can using the Morso. I still have it and use it for mouldings that are difficul...

Re: Fixing backboard when flush with moulding

We're not supposed to use flexipoints because FATG says so. Dunno why. I use a Fletcher Multimaster. It uses flexipoints that have two barbs (http://www.lionpic.co.uk/product/F-T-MULTIMASTER-POINT-DRIVER,8968.aspx). I used to use an Italian manual gun - in fact I have two, one loaded with rigid poin...

Re: Fixing backboard when flush with moulding

Could you use flexible points? Fire the points in without the backboard, bend them up, drop in the backboard and bend them flat.

I know FATG don't like them but I've never subscribed to that philosophy - in fact I use them all the time even when they don't need bending.

Let's hope the Morso stays on the first floor!

I think I'd probably make sure it's close to a load bearing wall.

I have written profiles for Epson Archival Matte paper and PaperMill Direct Fine Art paper amongst others Have you tried creating profiles for textured papers such as Epson's Textured Fine Art Paper. I've not had much success - actually that's not true, I've not had any success. With textured paper...

Re: Setting-up

I went on a course at West Dean near Chichester. It was a one-week full-time course with superb tuition, catering and superb accommodation in a stately mansion. I seem to remember it cost about £120 per day all in (with en suite single bedroom). A bargain really. I really only went along to find out...

Very sensitive, these Americans.

I assume you mean it was a picture of a tube of silicon sealant or suchlike.

When you get back in take a look at the Banned Camp Blues thread. Then you'll know that you're being missed.

Re: Price of printer cartridges

The last set of cartridges I bought for the Photosmart C4700 cost more than the printer. Mind you, when you consider that a precision piece of machinery and a cardboard box where shipped all the way from China via a distributor and taken all the way to my local PC World shop and still sold for £59 o...

Just in case you don't already know, the owner of the forum has excellent software for framers! It's called 'Estlite' and there are links to it on the forum. Unfortunately it doesn't run on a Mac - or an iPod. If you don't keep a count of what mouldings are in stock how do you know what you have? A...
