ColourMount Up and Coming Framer Award

This is a BRAND-NEW award which is presented by ColourMount in partnership with the Fine Art Trade Guild Weekend. It is aimed directly at any framer who has been working in the trade for less than five years.
It’s an entirely free-thinking competition, so you should go to town with your ideas and creativity. We’re not looking for ‘ordinary’ – we’re looking for concept framing, with the emphasis on design. This is your chance to try something you never do on a daily basis, and since ColourMount are supporting this competition, they will be looking for the creative and ingenious use of mountboard in your mount design!

The RULES

This is a freethinking competition, so you can choose to frame absolutely anything, so long as the finished piece falls within the following criteria:
• Maximum outside perimeter size of frame cannot be more than 2250mm
• Maximum Depth: 150mm
• Only ColourMount board can be used*
• The work can be carried out to any of the Guild’s framing levels
• The frame should be capable of being exhibited both on an easel, and on a wall.
• Notes on materials and techniques used, a short resume of you and your business, and a note of your social media tags, should be enclosed with your entry. Don’t forget to include your full contact details!
• Prior to sending out your entry, email (fsqc@fineart.co.uk) up to 12 digital images of your work in progress**. It’s essential to also include at least one photo each of:
(a) the finished frame
(b) the package ready for shipping
(c) you in your workshop
Please also attach your notes and resumé

*ColourMount will happily supply free to each entrant up to 10 sheets of ColourMount board to be used solely for the competition piece. Once you have completed and returned your entry form, you can contact sales@slater-harrison.co.uk at ColourMount for more information.

**Your photos will be stored safely and may be used for an Art +Framing Today article and/or other promotional purposes, including promotional use by ColourMount.
