Hand Finising Course Thursday 30th March

Post by Gesso&Bole »

Hi All

I still have 2 places left on my next group hand-finishing course being held at my workshop (near Nottingham) on Thursday 30th March from 10am until 4pm. The cost is just £95 (no VAT) per person.

This is an introductory level course, detailing the equipment and techniques involved in creating stunning but cost-effective hand-finished frames. Approximately one third of the day is me demonstrating techniques, and explaining the process, and two-thirds of the day hands on trying for yourself. You will take home your own chevron samples, and a complete set of written notes, including supplier details.

I can highly recommend this day with Jim, for anyone wanting to get to get some hands-on training in hand finishing.

Well who’d have thought that hand-finishing could be fun! I must admit, I didn’t expect it to be so, but I went on Gesso&Bole's course the other day and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. We covered a lot of ground, with Jeremy demonstrating various techniques in the morning and then me having a go in the afternoon. I've discovered that brushing some paint up and down a frame is very relaxing, and nearly as relaxing as watching someone else do it :D

The time flew by and I’ve come away feeling empowered to start practising some hand-finishing on my own. What’s more, I’ve got some whole new candy shops to explore, how exciting is that!

Jeremy was an excellent host and tutor, very generous with his knowledge, and I can thoroughly recommend his course to anyone who wants to find out about hand-finishing. He made it sound very straightforward, and easy to accomplish with some minimal equipment and some practice. It’s certainly given me a lot of food for thought as to how I can use some of the techniques, and I’ve already got a couple of projects planned.

Thanks for a great day, Jeremy
