North East Branch FATG meeting 20th March

Post by Max Roberts »

Friends and Colleagues

The next meeting of the North East Branch Fine Art Trade Guild is on TUESDAY 20th MARCH. Usual place, usual time. Some of you may well remember the last occasion some years ago that our evening's guest Ashley O'Grady of Exhibition 1 Framing gave a superb demonstration of water gilding to a captivated audience. At 11pm that evening, not one person had moved from their seat. Before you say "Evostick" I can guarantee that Ashley's presentation was fantastic. He will also be bringing some of his award winning frames to the meeting for your inspection.

This meeting is for eveyone interested in seeing craftsmanship at work whether you're an artist, framer, gallery owner or just someone interested in another aspect of your industry.

It's worth the effort to make the time to come along. We're at the Lodge at Leeming Bar which is 12 miles south of Scotch Corner on the A1. It's an easy location to get to and traffic flows relatively freely. We meet from 7pm to sit down for a three course buffet at about 7.30pm. The conference suite we're given is modern and an excellent facility.

The cost for FATG members and their guests is £11.00 (£13.00 non members). Pay at the door.

To book, for directions or for further information, contact me via email or call tuesday to Saturday 9.30am to 5.30pm

Thanks Keith. Great that you made the effort to come. Ashley's a fantastic craftsman and really inspiring as a demonsrator. Even if you're not going to be a gilder, his enthusism is infectious and I think that everyone who came went away with their business batteries a bit more charged up!
