I've moved this topic as it was in CMC designs forum.

I take it the frame was the main subject? :D

Very Nice.

It's only taken you nearly two years to get round to that Prospero! :giggle:

That was when I got a new monitor and the forum in question is now off the bottom of the screen.
I haven't got a CMC either.

That's my story and I'm stuck with it. :(

That's interesting and makes me wonder how other folk view the forum? I never bother looking at the board index I always just browse the View active topics. :D

I'me sure there were more posts here yesterday. Robo had made a personal observation that the frame in the topic wasn't to his liking - or words to that effect. It seems the not nice fairy has been active. I wonder if you put up a photo of a frame you have made that you expect the only comments to be "nice". Personally I would want the negative as well as the positive. We cannot improve without critical appraisal. Personally I don't like the frame, almost certainly because left as an empty frame it has no context to its relevance as a heavy dark frame with a dark mount. Had it had a image in it I may well have seen it in a different light.

So, cutting a newcomer a bit of slack is totally out of the question then.

It had already been noted that the post was 2 years old - and that the poster hadn't posted since - not exactly a newcomer. I would have thought the person who should be cut a little slack is the member who contributes on a regular basis. We are all big enough to be able to take what is said in context. It wasn't particularly unkind. I am not a great fan of either rule1 or 2 but it's your forum and therefore you decide how the rules are applied. I've noted over the years (I think I was actually your second member) that your interventions have been rare, but that you have permanently banned members who were good contributors - your ability to cut some slacks seems to be a little lacking when it comes to regular posters. How about that for going off topic......

The rules of the forum are plain to see.

I like to think that I have applied the rules fairly, but understand completely that those who have crossed the line and suffered consequences now feel aggrieved and seek solace and validation in the company of other transgressors.

I advise all members to study rules One and Two very closely and not hesitate to bugger off if they find them to be too oppressive.
