I. Have. No. Words.

I have thought of some words:

This one beats the picture held in with fly paper from 1999.

The one with the fly paper shows some real ingenuity in that it catches flies as well.

I remember that one, i forgot to price in all the tape and made a loss on the job. I have learnt since then to add cost of one roll of duct tape per frame (2 for that size).

The worst one I ever saw had the loose canvas stabled to the inside of the frame rebaate, then the stretcher frame dropped
in behind loose canvas folded over and stapled. Followed by a liberal coating of tape. Confused me a bit trying to remove the canvas.

Definitely not one of mine because when I first started framing HK oils on stretchers my method was to cut thin strips of Aluminium from Coke cans about 1 and 1/2 inch long and 1/4 inch wide, pin one end in the rebate, place in the painting and fold the strips over the stretcher and secure with a second pin :P (I had never heard of the dreaded Z clips)

If anyone copies this ingenious idea, remember to put the strips red side down :giggle:

The number of times i have now recovered bits of old carpet out of back of frames must be in double figures.

Not sure why they did it. Thought maybe to hide offending item from murder scene with dna on it. But then, couldn't check for dna back then.

Been watching too many Law and Order re-runs I think.

I reframed a few imported Russian paintings at one time. These were not rubbish some were 10K+.
They had been toenailed though the bars with huge sod-off wire nails. Heck of a job getting them out
of the frames intact. I think I cut the nails with a cutting disc on a Dremel. The sparks were a bit alarming,
but better than a wrecking bar.

It might be not much of a picture. Perhaps it's so you can hang it either way up and see which way you like it most.
