New painting in a new frame

Post by Orde02 »

Just finished this still life and had its frame already to go in...happy days!

Really enjoying being able to make a painting for a frame rather than the other way around Being able to see how it's going to look in its frame right from the early stages makes is so useful.
Here it is at the underpaint stage.

Very nice, Matt. Love the bloom on the fruit and the sheen on the wood.

Frame's pretty nice too! :D

Wow, your frame and painting both look amazing
I’m been learning how to frame & hand painting them since March of this year, it’s been a really enjoyable and frustrating journey at the same time
I really love your black and gold combination finish - was it black & gold acrylic paint you used or emulsion? I’ve been hand painting my frames since starting but have only used premium emulsion up til now and would like to experiment but don’t really know where to start, could you recommend any books that have helped you along the way.

Wishing you a merry Christmas and a thank you in advance debbie x :SD

Matt, what can I say that's not already been said.

That is a truly amazing painting and such a well crafted frame.
