Do you leave your camera switched on all the time.

I may need the exercise but to jump onto the counter and switch the thing on everytime - well every morning..... if you see what I mean

Absolutely.

Leave it switched on at all times (I assume that you have a power adaptor).

You also have to disable the 'Auto powerdown' feature, this can only be done on the camera, and can not be set from the computer.

Thanks guys

Just waiting for the ceiling mounting bracket to arrive.
Have all the USB cables and power adapter.
Have sorted out the auto power down.

Just waiting to play now.

You can cut a squaring up mat for your work area on the CMC. mine uses concentric squares cut as v grooves on a neutral grey mountboard - spaced out at 20mm this allows you to get the artwork and samples reasonably square for the camera.
