Tesco Scam?

Post by prospero »

Anyone had any emails supposedly from Tescos? Apparently I have £2K worth of unclaimed vouchers. That as well as the £1K I didn't claim last week. And of course there is a link to click to get your mits on this.

They look very genuine, but if it's not a scam I'm the Queen of Sheba.

What happens if you click the link I don't know but I betting it's nothing good.

Just a heads up. :P

I am guessing it Will take you to a form fill in page, which you would have to fill in to claim your prize.

There are lots of them and others particularly (for me anyway) including LinkedIn and Facebook.

I always hover the cursor over the link and that gives you the link information. Unless it has Tesco in that Link it will undoubedtly be a scam. Anyway, how can you get a 1000 vouchers in a week?????

I work on one simple rule when I see an email that I suspect may be a scam email

Is it offering something for free or that is just too good to be true?

If so delete without opening and move on.

The emails may be fake but Tesco do offer a service that allows you to reclaim used vouchers, I retrieved over £60 worth last year.

I use Mailwasher.
Love it.

It allows you to view your emails without downloading them from your server and you can then delete the ones you don't want before bringing them onto your PC
Used it for years - Well worth the price
I even donated in the early years when it was free!

Oh and the link could well have Tesco in it but it won't be from them!
.co.uk domains cost very little and they get domains similar to the real thing.
