Re: Shoutbox
Can the Shoutbox have its own dedicated page. In one way that will not slow down the main page to load and also give an increase in the number of lines./.
Firefox now installed John and yes the scroll bars are a lot better than IE7

Re: Shoutbox
Nice one Á, but I have that one in mind for a new forum in which to discuss museum conservation/preservation issues.

Re: Shoutbox
Technical observation:
The bold and italic formatting doesn't work the same way in the chat feature (i.e. when you highlight a word and then click on, say, the 'bold' button, it just sticks the codes in beside one another, instead of putting them either side of the highlighted text. Any idea why?

Re: Shoutbox
Curiously, it works fine in Firefox, and no doubt other browsers. Which probably means that it is an IE thing. But I will check to see if there might be a coding error.Moglet wrote:The bold and italic formatting doesn't work the same way in the chat feature (i.e. when you highlight a word and then click on, say, the 'bold' button, it just sticks the codes in beside one another, instead of putting them either side of the highlighted text. Anyone using the shoutbox much might want to consider moving to Firefox for the scrollbar, an improvement on the rather clunky static display of IE, I think it might be a tad quicker also.

Re: Shoutbox
Thanks for the info, J. No need to worry 'bout changing anything as a result of my earlier comments. Just mentioned it as a point of interest more than anything else. Wouldn't surprise me to hear it's a Micro$haft issue...
