how to close forum account

Post by fusionframer »

Hello,

It may be me being a bit dense, but I cannot see a way to close my account. Does anyone know how to do this?

Many thanks

It'll have to be done by a moderator or the adminstrator, send a PM.

Don't go without saying goodbye though :(

Not at all!

I have decided to remove all distractions that stop me from working. For the 5th year out of 6, I have surgery booked on my ankle that will leave me in plaster for at least 4 months. Last year was the first year I didn't have this and our (me and my wife) business has grown massively without the interruption. My operation is booked for 19th March and my wife is due to give birth to our 3rd child 20th February.

I enjoy looking through this forum, but need to spend every possible moment working, so thought it best to close my account.

Cheers

why not just change the password to something you won't remember -- remove the site from favourites - and resolve not to log in until you feel ready .

Good effort, but you don't need an account to view most of the Forum

Good luck with staying away but more so with the baby and the op!!!

That's true, I will just remove from my favourites and if I tempted to go onto it, change the password to one I forget.

Good luck for 2012 all, I will hope to come back at some point.

Cheers

Good luck with the op and being a Dad again :D

If you do the change-the-password-to-one-you-forget thing (just set the password with your eyes shut) you'll still get email notifications if someone sends a PM, which may tempt you to do the forgot password thing - so firstly go in to the user control panel and change those settings. You can also choose to be hidden so that if you become weak no-one can take the P when they look at 'whos online' :giggle:

If your account is closed it would be just the same as being logged out - the forum, bar members only, would still be there to see whenever you wanted to, so it's a case of willpower, which I lack! I always said I'd never go on the forum (and others) at work and couldn't until last year because we never had internet access at the shop - and I think part of the delay in having it was because I knew I was full of BS and totally WOULD use forums at work!

You could always block the website http://www.delete-computer-history.com/ ... bsite.html, maybe just on the PC at work but not at home, but then it's just a few clicks to unblock it if curiosity gets the better of you.

I think I'd find it harder than packing in smoking/drinking/hanging around Brighton pier in womens' clothes.

Get rid of the computer out of the workshop/office. This is what has been forced on me as my computer is in for repairs. Driving me up the wall but I have managed to keep up with all my work. You are probably still wondering how I am managing to type still got the blackberry but it isn't the same.

Good luck to you.

I must admit to finding it strange to resort to something so terminal. We all have moments to look in on the forum and sometimes to even contribute, but we are not talking of the drug craved need of crack cocaine!!! :sweating:

See you when I need my next fix.
