Power Trace or Bezier tool ????

Post by northernstar074 »

Hi All

I have been getting to grips with Corel Draw and doing some designs and for the most part I have been using Jared's instructions for using corel's power trace and then adjusting the nodes as required.

Over the last week or so I have been doing the tracing myself either using the freehand tool or my newly discovered toy the bezier tool.

I can't seem to decide which one is quicker or easier. What do you all think ?????

It really depends on how complex the trace is.

Personally, I prefer the Bezier tool. I find it a lot quicker adding/deleting and changing node styles on the fly.

One tip:. When tracing by hand (bezier) change the line colour to say a red and make it 0.5mm wide.
It becomes a lot easier to see the lines and the nodes as you work on top of your image.

When you come to save it as a .PLT it will revert to default settings of black line and hairline width.

Jared Davies has done a good tutorial on tracing with corel draw here:

It helped me understand the concept of tracing in corel.

If you need any help then give us a shout :)
