Looking for a Moulding - Mission Impossible?

Hi Framing Fiends or Friends (choose what you will) :)

I have been asked to find a moulding or something similar to match a series of family photo frames for a customer. From my own research I would guess it is now extinct but it is always worth asking the framing gurus who inhabit this online world.

There are two different flavours of the same moulding profile, one gold and one silver ... ish.

The gold moulding is the same colour all the way across, sides, front and inner edge. I would say it is a regency gold on a red base coat as you may be able to see from the distressing or scratches on the surface. The width is 70mm and the depth is 24mm.

The silver moulding is blackened silver with a plain silver inner edge. The left hand photo gives a better impression of the colour. Again the width is 70mm and the depth is 24mm.

Does anyone know of it or something similar that is available from a UK supplier?

This post will self destruct .......... eventually. I won't be into any disavowing by the way :)

That moulding design looks like 1950's-1960's in the US.
You could always make some moulding knives and mill your own.

http://moldingknivesdirect.com/index.html ................ custom prices $13.00US per inch

Hello Rolf, good to hear from you again!

We think it looks like an Enrique Lopez moulding but may well have been discontinued. Their website is lopezmold.com Not sure who the stockists are for your area but it might be worth checking out to see if it still features in their products

Happy searching

Thanks for the suggestions Jerome and Jo.

Yes Jo still alive and well in sunny Tandragee and back from the Betty Ford clinic after having Skype addiction fixed. Had a quick look at the Lopez site. Handy that it provides sizes and profiles but not seeing anything after a quick inspection. I'll take a longer look in the next day or so. In the meantime back to my glass of wine :-)

Thanks for the suggestions.
