morso blade guard

Post by red »

The morso I recently bought doesn't have a blade guard,Ive done a google etc search
re fitting a guard.there is little info on the subject I don't see how one could be fitted without drilling or large
amounts of gaffer tape-not very pretty! anyone have any advice?
thanks

If you stand facing the Morso as though you were about to use it the guard holder is a circular metal disc about ~40mm across and ~20mm deep with a vertical ~10mm hole through it The blade guard support rod goes in there and is locked into position with a hand nut out of sight behind it that you have to reach over to locate.

This is the part Mike is talking about. I think some older Morsos don't have this fitted and you may need to buy this bracket, but I'm not sure?

From the Lion website:
"On newer machines, it slides into a hole in the top casting. For older machines, you will need to buy the fixing bracket, Part no. DAN0005."

I think Lion sell a clamp on bracket for older machines that do not have the holder fitted
