About to do a job over the next couple of weeks, framing a kimono, it's going to hang in the frame, which is no problem.
Going to be using Simons PHOE/0035 http://www.djsimons.co.uk/index.php?rou ... hoe%2F0035
the size is 135cm wide by 85cm high, the glass (museum ) will be spaced off by MDF spacers around 5cm wide, these and the inner backing( 3mm MDF) will be painted, then I'm going to use a thicker MDF backing 6mm thick behind this inner to attach my cleat for hanging . If my calculations are right that should mean that this thicker backing will be inset by 6mm, thinking of using cleats to hang this frame, so my question is - I'm thinking of using Arqadia wide slip 151400000 http://www.arqadia.co.uk/productdetails ... =151400000 as the cleats, so attach one length to the the back of the thick MDF backing (glue and screw) , then the other matching length is attached to the wall (I'm not installing ).
What is the general feeling about using this as a cleat, do you think it will work
So what do you think
