Does anyone have experience of dry mounting jigsaws in the Hot Press?
What temperature and for how long if not my standard 90 ish and 2 mins 20 secs that I use for posters and the like?

Thanks
Keith

I use Dry Mount Film as opposed to tissue for this.

Peel off one side of release paper and puncture film with roller

Pop in press for 1.20 at 90

Take out and let cool.

Peel off release paper and use this as a carrier to maneuver/slide the jigsaw in place.

Then back in the press at 90 for a few minutes depending on size

Film is stronger than tissue so is better if using a mount.

Good luck

Stephen

I do them the same as absolute. Pre-mount the film and then arrange the puzzle - quick squeeze in the press - done.

If you cut the film just slightly smaller than the puzzle and mount to a suitable colour mountboard you can get a nice
floated look with the edges visible.

Actually a look in the Hot Press book indicates lots of holes - 10mm c/s b/ways.
I shall give these people a ring later

I've stacks of stuff for the hot press but of course no film, sods law.

Tissue just as good, but film is a bit easier as it gives you a tacky surface to arrange the puzzle on. :D

Thanks very much for the helpful hints,I'd decided to go with the tissue as I have it but sisters post brought me up short - this is a jigsaw - looks normal card and paper front, but made from an image supplied to the jigsaw making company, you didn't mean this sort of thing did you when you mentioned melting?

In the end I've ordered the Hot Press film from Wessex, with a very understanding customer whose ok to wait until 8 May, the due in date to Wessex.
How on earth could I contemplate continued assistance from Steve Goodall and then go elsewhere for my stuff - it must have been a senior moment.
