My new shop dates back to approximately the 1600's. The walls ain't straight, the floor ain't straight, in fact nothing anywhere is straight, or level and the sides of the room are not particularly parrallel to each other. I'm not joking, but it never occurred to me that the Morso would be rocking about on the floor, unfortunately that's what's happening. One part of the inside of the building has exposed timbers with some sort of soft materials filling in between the timbers.

I guess it would be good to somehow stabilize the Morso, but I can't think how I would go about this. Maybe I can buy some sort of mat that the base of the Morso would settle into. Any ideas would be most wecome.

If a few small wooden wedges don't fix it then I would make a wooden platform for the Morso and operator.
Get two or three 3 x 4 wooden bearers and level them up to about 18 inches apart. Then nail down some tongue and groove floor boards to the size of the platform. £50 should do it.
You say the walls are uneven. A good way of painting them is to buy a bag of hydrated lime from your local farm supplies, mix that into a bucket of diluted cheap PVA until you have a watery plaster, then slap that as you like onto the walls. Instant lime-wash effect.

As suggested, make a sturdy base and then buy a pack of M10 threaded adjustable feet to accurately take up any variation in the floor under the Morso. Here's a link to something typical on ebay. They come with a variety of lengths for the actual threaded section, so choose the size that will cover the max variation plus some spare. I have them under my work tables for exactly the same reason.

If you don’t mind having your Morso about 50mm higher (get them knees up) you could make a wooden frame level it and fill gaps with a sealant and pour self levelling compound in it to make a level base. You may get away with less height. Obviously it would stick to the floor don’t know if this would be acceptable as its a old building and probably protected. Suppose you could put something over floor first

If you do raise your morso up make sure the pedal cannot travel down lower than intended. I would go for the idea of a platform big enough for the morso and yourself to make sure the pedal goes no lower than it should. Hope that make sense.
