Hello. Need some help. I have a pneumatic Euro 9000 underpinner that has been great for many years, but now it looses air through 2 small originally made cracks ( see images) on the air regulator which has a knob and connect to the compressor and more parts of the machine. This company doesn't exist any more, and so need to know if I plug those cracks, is there any chance that something would explode because they are meant to be open or something? I don't get it what's are there for. Other brands might have the same idea, but not the cracks, please have a look at yours.
Thank you so much. Joe.

Re: Euro underpinner part
Most of the pneumatic components on Euro underpinner were made by Crouzet. They are mainly industry standard parts and unlikely to be no longer available. I expect that the part you have shown is a pressure regulator. There is no point in trying to repair your deflective part, if the glue, or filler gets into the insides, it will quite possibly interfere with the operation of the internal moving parts and render the part useless.

Some parts may have changed their outward appearance over the years, but it is the functional requirement that matters. The port connection fittings are normally not included as complete with many of these parts and either have to be ordered separately, or salvaged from the original part, if this is possible.
You may find it much easier to obtain the parts you require through a framing equipment engineer, rather than try to figure it out yourself. Many ex-engineers may well be able to figure this out themselves, but others may find this much more difficult to understand. There may not be any problem in fitting a different, but equivalent pressure regulator of alternative manufacturer. As machinery like this gets older and parts become no longer available, the cost of maintaining such equipment may eventually become no longer worth doing, so beware.
It is not unknown for people to buy up defective Euro underpinners, just to keep them as a source of spare parts, if the price makes this worthwhile!
The item below from lion is functional the same thing, but you will need suitable adaptors to adjust to suit the smaller hose fittings inside the machine, a regulator and gauge like this would be often screwed onto the outside of the machine and setting the correct air pressure for the machine would have to be by using the pressure reading from the old gauge to obtain the same air pressure.

Re: Euro underpinner part
There is a smaller flow rate regulator on the machine which controls the speed of operation of the top clamp and the hammer blade. Setting this so that it operates too fast will increase the wear that the hammer blade experiences. A slower and softer thump is less likely to damage the hammer blade, or break the hammer blade return spring.
