Misbehaving point driver

Post by Trecelyn »

Hi

My point driver (Inmes FI-150) has decided to only fire points one in every 4 or 5 trigger pulls. This is despite using their own 15mm points. They seem to jam on the second or third trigger pull.

Is there a remedy or should I get a new one?

Thanks in advamce

This is most likely being caused by the front edge of the firing pin becoming worn and skidding over the points cartridge. If you are able to do this - take out the firing pin, turn it around and re-assemble. The new edge should now engage with the points.
Having said that, they're not too expensive to replace.

Thanks for the tip!
Looks like a new one is in order.
The firing pin is welded to the spring holder.
Another lesson learnt!

Thanks
