Calculating Slip & Frame Size

Post by iorek »

Hi folks

I have received my first request for a frame with a slip (I think that's the right terminology - normal frame, glass, wooden inner frame, artwork).

So to process this order in Estlite I calculate the window size and enter the inner frame (slip?) ID?

Then I add a "+" symbol and enter the outer frame ID?

I assume that Estlite calculates the increase in dimensions caused by the inner frame?

Is this correct?

You guessed right.
When stacking frames on EstLite, work from the innermost outwards.

For example: F1+F2+F3+...etc
Where F1 is the innermost frame rim. Dimensions are calculated, based on the moulding widths of the mouldings. So, the inside base dimensions of F2 would be equal to the outer dimensions of F1.
